If anything, Drake being more popular overall had that edge going into the battle, just couldn’t sustain it throughout

It matters because the consensus win matters, if there were more of you, Drake won the battle, just by default
Even if NLU still became huge, if enough ppl loved FM the night it dropped, things go very different, it’s more of it lacking impact than popularity imo
MTG is a good example, not the most popular song in the battle, but incredible impact
