When someone is obsessed with owning media it sounds indistinguishable from doomsday preppers to me. You don’t own the means to generate electricity do you? How you gonna listen to all that music when they take that away from you? Better start investing in some solar panels and batteries.

There isn’t a single art form that doesn’t rely on consumption. Movies and shows are made to watched. Dances and plays are meant to be watched. Music is made to be listened to. Books and poems are meant to read. Games are made to be played. Any kind of expression is predicated on the audience on receiving it in its medium. Unless you believe artist everywhere throughout all of history made all their art without the belief that someone would consume it
