You know this stat means nothing because if Kendrick announced an album today the rap world would stop
I’m so glad I grew up at a time where we talked music without caring about streaming numbers
SPOTIFYYYYYYYY
Think of the streams
The Spotify streams lmao
The biggest proponent of ai music that exists.

I don’t even listen to music, I just check the Spotify charts and pick my favorite artists from whoever is the most popular
Brian steel, gimme a hug, what did I miss. U want an album full of them type of songs?
It’s not enough.
I see your points. I mean when you think about all the guys that we are talking about, Nas, Kendrick, Drake, etc. all of them didn’t make it to where they are by accident. So in the context of Nas and Kendrick I see both sides of the coin there and the argument kinda feels like we are splitting hairs. At a minimum, Kendrick picked up the torch and blazed new paths with it for the new generation though. There’s no denying that.
Drake took the torch and has put together an unprecedented run that will most likely never be replicated in hip hop.
Yes, you're right in that Cole n Kendrick continued that path that nas n pac started and thats a good think. i just think artists like Future and Drake were more able to force hiphop to adopt their sound. Same with Kanye and Wayne. In fact, i'll even make the argument that young thug has influenced hiphop sound way more than Cole and Kendrick have. off course both of them are way better rappers than young thug but i think being able make the culture adapt to you matters a lot on a leadership tier.
So yes, technically kendrick's a leader. but this started cuz someone said he was the "undisputed leader" and i don't think he's even close at all. Cole was my favorite rapper for a long time and i would've never called him that considering the run future and drake was on
I’ll be right here in my spot with a lil mo cash than I already got
Julia Wolf is on ADL
What are the odds that Drake gave Dog House to Yeat
Wouldn’t drake be featured on tracklist as well if that was the case?

Opinions over statistics of course

Yeah tend to agree. I have a hard time crowning anyone as “undisputed leader” of anything. When I was playing football at bama it was a dynasty without a question, but Clemson/Georgia/Auburn and that one random South Carolina team were always right there to remind Alabama they weren’t the only ones playing ball lmfao.
I know drakes numbers are overwhelming and his catalogue is full of hit after hit and classics galore, but there’s never just been one undisputed leader in hip hop. There’s too many roots for one person to carry and that’s ok. Drake is the GOAT of this generation in my opinion. But he’s not the only one pushing the game forward and neither is Kendrick being the only one pushing it forward.
Wouldn’t drake be featured on tracklist as well if that was the case?
It says +more at the end of the ad
Unless the tracklist got revealed in full

Drake was on the billboards , it's very possible he gave it to Yeat

Anything but the album

Yes first week and sales have always been a flex, going platinum and diamond were cool accolades
But one thing people always reminded you during those conversations was that Vanilla Ice and MC hammer were selling crazy, but nobody was callin them the best for it
