Apr 23your fav galI feel like you are kinda missing the main point… artists sign to labels to build their brand, and there was probably something in drake’s deal about not harming his image. but now he thinks UMG pushed a track with really awful accusations about him in a way that wasn’t even organic, and he is just trying to stand up for himself ; which honestly feels pretty fair to me
This argument falls apart when you realize that there would be no lawsuit if UMG was pushing Family Matters rather than Not Like Us

Apr 23·1 replyyour fav galthis really isnt about a rap battle the way people keep framing it, it is more of a business and branding issue. a label isnt supposed to harm the artist its working with, and if it does, that is a problem. drake seems to believe UMG supported and boosted a song that damages his image in ways that werent organic, maybe even artificially. at least that’s how he sees it, we dont actually know what led him to that conclusion. so now he is trying to handle it legally. it is honestly way less about rap beef and way more about protecting his brand
I’m not disagreeing that Drake sees it that way, I just don’t care, give me all the battles and all the raps and all the s*** talk, and if someone makes something NLU level, send it to the moon
