    Based on what?
Could be the most hyped for you and that’s totally valid
Just felt like the world in general was buzzing when views was going to come out

This is still an anticipated album but not to that level

The hype for it peaks with his diehard fans (including me btw)

Views was just wider spread in the media etc

Which makes sense since Drake at odds w the media rn

Is this his most hyped album since Views? Gotta be right?

    nahhh b

maybe I'm wrong and just getting older

but the Scorpion & VIEWS pre-release hype were monumental

    this has intense EXPECTATIONS

but I wouldn't call it pure HYPE, the thing is that Haters are ready for this to drop and attack it just as much as we want to bump it

Drake was way more willing to play ball with traditional media when Views came out.

Zane Lowe interview, SNL appearances, NBA All Star game performances

Drake straight up doesn’t do legacy media giveaways anymore. He’d rather hop on a stream now

was thinking Scorpion as well but i don’t think it has an equivalent in Kanye’s discog because of its double-disc nature

More Life works better with Grad imo — hit singles, some misses, sales competition (maybe just on the fans side of it) with DAMN., etc

More Life always felt like a Views EP tbh

One of his most fun albums. But definitely was a bit oversaturated at that point

no way you're downplaying Views when it comes to hits lmao. thats the route you chose?

I'm not tryna say that at all would be plainly incorrect.

what I'm saying is the general public pretty much knew the entire album front to back— every single track was a radio hit, not just the singles. Which is not true for Views, despite it having many hits

he did call it a “playlist” but that just feels like a gentrified way to call it a mixtape

  • Niggas just tried to downplay Views impact and hits so i had to look up the stats. keep in mind this the album with One Dance, Hotline Bling, Controlla, Feel no Ways, Too Good. and is charting #36 on Billboard 200 rn

Views debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, with 1.04 million album-equivalent units in its first week of release, including 852,000 pure album sales and over 245 million streams (despite the album, with the exclusion of its singles released at the time, only available to stream on Apple Music for the first two weeks). It had the biggest week for an album since Adele's 25 collected 1.19 million units in its fifth week of release (week ending December 24, 2015). It stayed in the top spot for nine consecutive weeks, and spent a total of 13 non-consecutive weeks at number one.
