Because those were two separate points I was making that you conflated, now we are getting confused

but how can they have be creating a cohesive hegemonic bloc if they don't even have the same geopolitical or ideological interests

Russia won't become a Chinese vassal state, but Russia is becoming and will continue to be more dependent on China as the war goes on, and China will be in a more powerful position over Russia.

Relations have become much closer during the Xi era

I'm not sure if their relations got closer or if the USA pushed China and Russia further away from them. Maybe both

The US has allies who go off and do their own things at time, but are still apart of the US bloc

It already gets very murky at state election levels with all the insane gerrymandering and voter registration laws.

I think a lot of Europeans don't realize you have to be on a list to vote in the USA.

    Look at these abominations:

There's this one Democratic caucus where they just count via eye-test which side of the room has more people on it to decide who gets the electors. : Forgot which state it was

okay but what is the mutual thread tying Russia/China together to be a cohesive bloc

do not say it's just because they're mutually anti-US that's not what a hegemonic sphere is

One of the reasons why the war is a disaster for Russia, and the US for that matter, since it strengthens their actual number 1 competitor China.

Increased economic ties as a result of the war will give way to China acting as the mediator when the conflict comes to an end

you're talking about money again when you say economic ties which you established on the last page was not what you were talking about

the latter fundamentally cannot the case as China does not have any of the same geopolitical ambitions as Russia. and why would they support the geopolitical ambitions of a country which would ruin their own ability to expand their economic policy?

Russias geopolitical ambitions will give way to China's as a matter of regime/national survival.

    what

he can be right. the war won't end soon and supplies are not limitless. in the long run, the only way for russia to actually win this war is global mobilization, but without supplies they're would be just cannon fodder. so china help could be vital

Seems Russia is doing pretty good without global mobilization tho

russia has had a failing economy and been crumbling structurally for years

china is the only competent major economic competitor to the US and a large part of this growth is cooperation with the western world

why would china sabotage itself over an ally it has no interest in except sucking the money out of

    how

Demographics is a huge factor. Russia already has a demographic crisis on par with East Asia's and worse than the US. They will likely come to rely on China for labor, as well as relying on China's geopolitical heft as they are now a pariah state. China will have them by the balls essentially. Additionally, Russia now no longer has an industrial base for advanced defense manufacturing. Even pre-war they failed by a wide margin to meet the Russian military's order for Su-57. The T-90 seems to have been under produced as well. The T-14 was a non-starter. Due to sanctions they can no longer manufacture tanks at all. China has to gain from it as well as the Russians, while lacking the capability to manufacture, still have more advanced technology and designs than the Chinese.
