The other side’s populace doesn’t even support the war though

    That’s a big thing too

Yes we’ve seen protests but Russia is a country of 144 million people, I think a blanket statement saying they don’t support the invasion is a bit irresponsible.

  • I kinda dropped the ball on this thread cause I've had a lot going on in my life, recently found out I have adhd (which might be communicated with some of the s*** I've come out with over tje years)

I just believe ukraine should be entitled to choose its own course, and not coerced like this

The reports of Russian troops surrendering and overall looking pretty demoralized looks like there’s hesitation even in the armed force

I’d suffice to say that it’s pretty unpopular

That’s not what he said at all

He said sanctions would prevent an effective administration over the ISS and could lead to it de-orbiting, and then called for them to be revised

The Russians and Americans on the ISS are still working together

    NATO expansion explains a lot

Yet Putin is still an imperialist and a war still helps him shore up support domestically. And prevent an alternative liberal democratic East slavic natuon fuelling dissent

It's s*** like this that makes countries want to join nato in the first place. There is plenty of room for nuance indeed, yet at the end of the day, putin let the genie out the bottle

  • I think it’s highly likely Kyiv falls by the morning

I don't remember the source anymore, but it said it was like split pretty evenly. Like half of the population is estimated to back the government in this case. At the same time, there were no protests (which are forbidden btw) like these when Russia annexed Crimea. So this def a war the Russian population doesn't agree w as much as the Russian actions towards Ukraine before. Prob cause of the history between the countries, family there etc.

That's why i think Putin tries to do this as quick as possible, remove the government, install a Russian puppet and he will be out. A long conflict doesn't seem to be in his favor. Think Russia will do all that soon tbh. Ukraine won't win this, but some (permanent) type of guerrilla warfare can happen as a result tho
