hell nah i don't like her but i don't hate her because she has gotten policy that i support passed
in congress she's one of the only ones thats not completely incompetent
What policy?
Across nearly all former Soviet republics surveyed, age factors into people’s views. Adults ages 35 and older are more likely to view the USSR’s breakup as a bad thing for their country, while those ages 18 to 34– who were either small children or not yet born when the USSR fell – are less likely to see it this way.
I'd say the opinions of people who actually lived through the USSR hold more merit than those who haven't, wouldn't you?

Many in these three nations believe the enormous transformations that have taken place since the demise of the Soviet Union have had negative consequences for their societies. In particular, majorities in all three say the changes since 1991 have had a bad influence on the standard of living, the way people in society treat one another, law and order, and public morality.
The US is bad as Russia because they’re both totally controlled by oligarchs
The US just happens to have a hegemony while Russia doesn’t
except no the US isn't literally totally controlled by oligarchs. there's 100% an argument to be made that the rich ultimately have the most political influence, but the general population isn't totally and completely disregarded and the most powerful US oligarchs aren't also literally chief government officials as well.
the same cant be said for russia. there, oligarchs literally run almost everything and the general population is actually completely and totally disregarded
My point was largely in how they rose up
Kanye being a middle class black kid growing up in a rough city with all the racial forces that comes with and jay being straight up the victim of immense generational trauma in his environment, essentially growing up in a third world area
No billionaires are anywhere near self made
It’s like saying that alpha centauri is as close as we can get to another star and considering that relatively close to our own situation with the Sun
ukrainians being racist while being attacked by russia is so f***ing crazy
sick in the f***ing head
Again whatever formal and informal processes with relation to govt the billionaires in russia have that differ from those in the states is largely just a function of different governmental systems and cultures
The end result is largely still the same and both should rightly be seen as equivalent to each other
ok sure let's say they're roughly equivalent, US oligarchs having somewhat less direct control over govt operations.
Even still, claiming US billionaires have more power over US government operations than Russian billionaires over Russian government operations is wrong and stupid and needlessly provocative.
like why not just take an honest look at s*** and make real critiques?

The population is disregarded lmao
We literally only vote for people to “represent” us but they do nothing in favor of the public

What do you mean?

A facade of democracy passing milquetoast legislation doesn’t mean that oligarchs don’t have final say over the way this country works
They fund the two parties’ national conventions and directly influence their choices in presidential and congressional candidiates. They directly lobby for their campaigns so their legislation can be passed. They own the news stations that vouch for and criticize their candidates. They find the military and police that control both their population and other populations
Europeans talking in a positive manner about "refugees" now that it concerns Ukrainians, while holding Afghani's, Syrians and Yemeni's in contempt as unwanted "migrants" def pushes me over the edge
Those right wing mfs you talking bout always say they would give refuge to people from neighbouring countries. We all know why (racism), but their whole thing is refugees should seek refuge in their own region. So you kinda could expect this
You should know they're racist af by now
The population is disregarded lmao
We literally only vote for people to “represent” us but they do nothing in favor of the public
yes the population is definitely disregarded, but not completely and entirely, like in Russia.
billionaires still have to somewhat factor in public opinion and voters and s*** like that when they go thru lobbying groups and whatever

Not their type of skin color. That’s how western media works bro. Western media always s***ted on people of color and treated us like second class citizens.

What a surprise. Thank you for defending them by letting us know something we all already knew

You think the same thing doesn’t happen in Russia? Both have to prevent literally everyone deciding to overthrow their government

Nah bro they only have to listen. Politicians get their pockets lined by corporate lobbyists and dont give af about their constituents.
American democracy is a facade

I'm not saying the rich don't have the final say on s*** I'm saying making claims like "corruption in the US is worse than corruption in Russia" is just ignorant and frankly stupid
When will y’all understand every government is corrupt lol
You think the same thing doesn’t happen in Russia? Both have to prevent literally everyone deciding to overthrow their government
ok but they don't hold real elections with real effects in Russia.
look my point is only that it's worse in russia, not that it isn't horribly corrupt in the US
I'm not saying the rich don't have the final say on s*** I'm saying making claims like "corruption in the US is worse than corruption in Russia" is just ignorant and frankly stupid
Its damn near on the same level. US literally have killed activists just for trying to make change. Pretending like the US is more righteous is just flawed logic
What a surprise. Thank you for defending them by letting us know something we all already knew
Assuming he isnt from Europe..
I'm not saying the rich don't have the final say on s*** I'm saying making claims like "corruption in the US is worse than corruption in Russia" is just ignorant and frankly stupid
I’d say it’s worse because it’s legalized, moralized and openly defended by the political body and even normal people of the US as something virtuous instead of being blatant corruption
Can’t believe what I’m reading rn
