Do i think these effects are seriously played up by the media? Yes. Do i think the presidential election is routinely influenced by political lobbies and special interest groups? Yes. Do I think both candidates are selected in a frankly undemocratic process in the primaries? Yes.

But at the end of the day, what determines who sits in the white house is ultimately the votes of the people. and that is more than you can say for russia.
