ion understand why the studios cant pay the dues? how hard is it to just say yes? there's no way they plan to get around it, right???
I don’t think anyone really has an answer for this other than “greed”. I feel like it’s just ego at this point. A “we don’t want to give in because we’re being told to by people beneath us” typa attitude
Insane way to make a point

No more TV. No more movies. We have to find other hobbies.

I just wonder if after all of this is resolved if the scale of media being created will be shrunken.

Feels like there's too much content or maybe that's just me...

They’re about to go extra hard
This past year I’ve been absolutely hating interfacing with films through streaming and started to buy DVD’s again. It’s f*** streaming for real. I’ll always be an advocate for watching a movie however one is able too but if you’re able to buy DVD’s every now and then it’s such a beautiful experience lol I hate that this opportunity was taken away from us.
I remember growing up and going to my local Hastings and just looking at the aisles and walls of cover art and being totally inspired to pick up a random film. I really do think that streaming and the algorithms have completely changed the movie experience and it’s terribly sad because people are now experiencing films in such a vacuum.
F*** streaming. It’s DVD’s for real. Or if you’re streaming just do something smart like Mubi or Criterion
Hope this s*** ends soon.

We make our own movies now.

I think there’s always going to be “too much” I think the problem is that films are not meant to be experienced the same way tv is and right now there is no difference between the two when side to side on a streaming platform.
I really hope some sort of indie theatre and indie dvd store scene begins to take place soon.
