I know it’s the typical Kanye leak/demo attachment situation but I typically end up preferring and or at the very least understanding and still very much enjoying whatever edits and changes ye makes to a song but… Praise God was absolutely annihilated from the first LP version we got, straight up took the life out of it to the point where that’s probably my most skipped song on Donda. To anyone who never listened (I’m assuming most of us did) or forgot what it sounded like I implore you to go back and listen to the original ATL LP version. The beat was leaps and bounds better and Baby Keems verse was structured in such a much more exciting way, not to mention I think the clean edit to the album negatively impacted that verse worse than any other on the album as well. What y’all think about the final version we got?
Ok, Listening to LP1 version again…
Hm… there’s lots of repetitive hi hats
Glad those are removed.
Those vocal effects at the end of Travs verse are cool
Instrumental getting a little repetitive at this point… glad they switched it up to the organs in the 2nd version.
Now the song is over.
Nah, you got Snippet Sydrome boy

I was tryna tell people that choir would get annoying after 4 minutes
yup, old drums are much better
Travis adlibs effects giving the perfect atmosphere
this keem guy takes 2 minutes to start his verse
know what you mean but tbh album version is still hot fire idm
USED TO THROW UP MAH UNCLES SPAGHETTI
BEEN TOLD TO TOTE SINCE BEFORE I WAS READY
Travis really just says nonsense
I don’t even care tbh it’s mostly about the instrumental to me and then keems verse coming in a lot smoother imo

"Kept it real tight like yo son" is a bar too because you (the listener) dont know if hes talking about donda's son (kanye west) or gods son (jesus christ)
idk if i have severe demoitis for this song or what but i cannot get into the organ/replaced 808s at all for the final version

I thought he was evoking Eisenstein's montage technique to his layered imagery compounding upon itself to convey pure spiritual fervor

Agree lp2 da best version

The pure unadulterated power of the ad lib in conjunction with the lyric
Final version is better in every way except the Kanye hook. Wish he kept the Travis hook.
