Good opportunity to take a look at this while we at it
Baby Keem cool but we gonna have to see if he can evolve somehow
With his xxl freestyle looks like being under Kenny wing gonna be beneficial for him
A prediction ill say right now is Lil wayne will die this decade and so will Kanye. Dont get mad at me. It just seems very likely but I dont want it to happen.
Also drake will take a major L.
Replace the artists in number 5 with Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, Tyler, etc and you got it.
out at almost all of these
Yeah I’m not feeling any of this.
I think the trend will be more female voices with a steady infusion of “world music” influence, along with more orchestral and less electronic/loopy type of beats.
Definitely a lot more r&b influence then their already is.
I’ve thought and posted here for a while that the next drake level superstar is gonna be a multi ethnic female who is sort of a next level Aaliyah who can rap as well as anyone out. I thing the Young Thug influence will continue to be the strong through line for the next generation.
Koffee is as close as I’ve seen to the next generation that I foresee. There’s so much talent out there though, in every genre. Everything is gonna continue mixing, with hip hop leading the way.
baby keem the next kendrick
bby kodie the next drake
more international music too. the next biggest rappers wont even come from america
I doubt #1 and #3 are gonna happen
I want #2 and #5 to happen
#8 and #6 already happened
#9 is pretty realistic
Idk how to feel about #4
Don Toliver isn't a good enough writer to be the next drake. Just by reading the lyrics on a Drake hit 2012-2018 you can see how well he and his team understand pop structure.
Don hasn't reached that level yet, he knows how to make a catchy melody but he doesnt know how to craft a hit.
street rap will be overtaken by another rap subgenre in a few years
could be a new blend of other genres like latin or a return of an established subgenre like lyrical rap
baby keem the next kendrick

The biggest rapper this generation already didn’t come from America lol
Gunna will go to the moon.
let me do 10
1. Drake will take a large break in 2 albums time and he will came back 2 or 3 years later (think post black album jay)
2. Kendrick will release his most controversial record sonically with being either love or hate record and doesn't sell as well as DAMN, but being more appreciated over time (opposite of DAMN)
3. Cole turns into a andre 3k when he just features once in a blue moon and pushes his proteges out
4. Travis will became most popular hip hop artist when drake does his break but will follow down the path his in right now
5. Also around 2024 is when the big 3 will be certified (and one them is someone that we don't know about yet)
6. Trap will expand out of its current form and split into different ways (sorta how punk did)
7. Lil baby will stay extremely popular street rapper of choice and will drop conscious street record where all major outlets will critical acclaim it (and will get ROTY at the Grammys)
8. Hip hop will also team more and more with indie over the decade (we already seeing this with james blake, kevin parker etc being on popular rap records)
9. A rapper from Australia will drop a classic record of some sorta and it will be from indigenous background, which will spark heavy conversation in media due to the content but will sweep the Grammys
10. Nu Metal will return
i have feeling at least 1/2 these will happen
