@canon @Prince @Biginthegame im not sure who else would be into this discussion 🤔 haven’t listened to it yet, just stumbled on it now. Fwd to 6 minutes
Promoting a book that sounds interesting 🧐

something so pure about those early guitar demos. Feels so different to anything else he ever did. love it.

my sister is more of the prince head than me but she put me on to this a while back
is there a mega or something with b sides, demos, etc?
What’s your Twitter account if I may ask?
You ever see him do Santana covers?
He would do this medley & kill it, scaring all the musicians in the house who didn’t know he was that knowledgeable of pulling off other material.
At prince’s own club:

The Artist at his general peak as an... artist, to be frank.

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRQyqgzgnyY2 n half hours of Michael B the legendary NPG drummer for Prince 89-1996, telling you from his perspective of what it is like at 20 years old being in a drum throne after Sheila E.
Quotables? Oh man
One quotable that will stick with you: 'In order to play for a genius you GOTTA BE A GENIUS'
Join Michael B in this podcast which has so much information, funny moments of the making of Nude tour, Diamonds and Pearls,Beautiful Experience 1994 NBA Show,Undertaker, Gold Expererience,Exodus, tour experiences<madhouse 24, being fired, Sonny T history & everything in between.
You also get to hear about what it's like to be on a 'Compound' and just be there in MPLS isolated from the world turning down high profile gig's. Just spending most of your days in limbo for the next gig.
You learn about why Michael was able to learn so fast, he has perfect pitch -he was blessed with this and can decipher tempos on command of anything that Prince throws at him.
The other quote that comes to mind 'Im coming with Razor Blades and Lemon Juice' regarding his interactions with people who just want to attack him on internet forums.
Whether you are new to the Prince universe or not, great listen. The interview starts a minute in and doesn't let go until the very end.
Rating: B+
@Biginthegame @canon @Bill_My_Zoot @starburst
His best drummer of all-time; f*** Kirk Johnson.
Office Max.......that's all you need

Another song we never heard but probably exists. Im guessing this was after Badu because of the a***og living in a digital world reference. The lyrics seem to be the Jehovah era if you look at them. I'm going to guess no earlier than 1997.
Proto-Tora Tora.
This man did 13 albums for other people in less than a decade
😳😳😳😳😳
Sheila e x 3
Madhouse x 3
The time x 3
Family
Jill Jones
Vanity 6
Apolonia 6
Now for you new prince lurkers, when I say did : wrote- produced- arranged - played majority of instruments ( probably 97 % when I say that)
Fam, we are still just scraping the door to the universe of Prince 😨😨😨😨😨
Yup, albeit Madhouse was his own & Eric Leeds’s project.
The Here we have Prince in his house ( he demolished it later. But this video is cool because we see the inside of the house/ exterior & plus we hear a smoking version of zannalee - a simple guitar blues number about a threesome
!https://youtu.be/1F1GCjRyEbwNot sure why the estate hasn’t put this up yet.
But if you are wondering what kind of s*** is in the vault, prince recorded all stack of power trio ish in the 90’s with Sonny T & Michael B. And that’s all facts. Bruh.... . 😭😭😭😭
Here’s a power trio film ‘Undertaker’ where they were going to play this Zannalee song but Prince aborts quickly and goes into something else. But you can see that his band was still ready to go to film at 2 am in the morning.
part 1:

!https://youtu.be/eczvXhVZwgkwhen he hits the opening to Bambi, that’s for player’s only. That drummer is going off.
@canon @Biginthegame @StarBurst
This version >>>>> the one we’d receive on “Chaos and Disorder...” he shouldn’t have overdubbed it whatsoever; period.
Prince at Bagley Warehouse Aftershow 1993 probably 2 in the morning. Some fans drove 5 hours just to see him & you gamble every time because they never say if he’s performing, you just show up & hope he likes the sound man at the club.😨😨😨 Now keep in mind this band just got done playing and here they are with no sleep. That’s another thing, you were afraid to go to sleep because he might need you. Don’t miss the call. 😳😳😳
This night he brought the band & his touring companions. Starts around 4 minutes in, if you want to see the walk to the stage, 3 minutes.
!https://youtu.be/4JDKNr3vu8cNice set and if you don’t know these songs, nice variety of material. Good show to watch and it is pro shot.

Here is scan of the ticket
Yup; that’s my favourite era of all-time... 1993—1995.

Here he is playing a guitar he didn’t play often, the clef guitar.
!https://youtu.be/VlBQxQkE-wEAnd here he is playing the SNL anniversary special promoting Batman soundtrack.
Few things to note, he’s playing Electric Chair. Which just goes to show Prince played whatever he wanted.
Great Performance & interesting band, they didn’t really tour in 89, it gives us an idea of the band configuration. Such a riff 😤
The “Electric Chair” band was the most unique from my point of view.
