Who do you think is a better songwriter and musician?
To me prince is a way better musician but rahbert Kelly is a better song writer
Prince started many things including that Minnesota funk sound that eventually birthed new jack swing and not to mention his impact on rock music and he wrote a lot of hits and helped get Morris day and the time started (who Bruno Mars copies from)
R kelly on the other hand has penned a lot of classics for other artist and himself and basically has birthed all of these half talking/half singing over rap beats r&b singers and rap crooners of today.

look, on a purely music lvl, prince is better, but not by some massive margin. R Kelly is a creep, but he's also a talented dude.

He wrote songs for mj, usher, Toni Braxton, Celine Deion, Whitney Houston..not to even include his own classics
