Can wrestling create another megastar? At least in my opinion it can.

I don’t consider anyone in wrestling currently to come near the likes of Cena, Lesnar, and The Rock.

As much as WWE and wrestling fans like to push the idea of Reigns, Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky Lynch. I believe they’re big to wrestling fans and thats it.

Their are way too many factors to know if another Stone Cold/Hulk Hogan megastar will appear in this era.

WWE is pushing Roman to be a crossover star but he’s missing something that’s preventing him to be the megastar that they want him to be. In terms of Women, I believe Bianca can be that big draw but we all know how her reign turned out.

As for AEW, I can see them catching lighting in a bottle but their focus on appealing to fans of workrate rather than characters might hinder their growth a bit.

Nah, Sammy is a good worker to have in the TNT title scene to put on some good matches even if he barely has charisma

Good matches in a company that has plenty of good matches doesn’t mean much

There were cool wrestlers but also a whole lot of complete trash gimmicks. The Rock can pull in old viewers when need be but this new gen would rather go watch him in Jungle Cruise and Black Adam, don't blame them either. I can't even say the next big crossover star will be a woman, doesn't seem as though any of the Rousey fans stayed to watch anyone else. Wrestling was car crash television, is a niche with an audience but for the right person is a stepping stone into Hollywood. You ain't gonna see that 90s s*** ever again lol

Dave is Jewish so it ain’t anti-Semitic. He comment is lame as f*** for totally diff reasons tho. It kills me when ppl start getting extra animated and invoking nazi Germany for other countries but never do it with the US.

I don’t expect stupid ass wrestling fans to engage w this topic w any kind of sense though

"AEW didn’t make any announcement of this but the original three-year deals of all the people who were there at the start, which would be Young Bucks, Cody & Brandi Rhodes, Adam Page, Chris Jericho and some others would have expired by now. Some of the others like Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky would have expired in a few weeks. The Young Bucks publicly noted that their option years were picked and per the original deal got a raise for two more years. Some of them already signed new deals, notably Scorpio Sky who last year signed a five-year new deal. But obviously Page, Cody & Brandi and Jericho were renewed since they were either on TV this week or confirmed as staying. It was also said that Kenny Omega had signed a 4 year deal in 2019, so there is no question of him re-signing with the company until 2023. It is likely all the aforementioned stars will be staying"

It would literally be shameful if any of the OGs like the Bucks,Kenny,Cody,Page or even Jericho dipped for WWE,they would lowkey be embarrassing themselves if they did do that. AEW not announcing their renewals let’s you know that it was never in question whether or not these guys would comeback.

I love AEW and they do have characters but let’s be real, they’re main audience are hardcore fans who want to see crazy spots and technical wrestling and most of their signings have been big name indie guys/former NXT dudes who fit that formula.

WWE has set the standard for mainstream audiences that wacky colorful characters is what wrestling is and I’d be happy if AEW broke that stereotype but it’s going to take a long time before that happens

Idc what anyone says,NJPW before the pandemic had the formula to break that stereotype and it had just as much to do with how they presented wrestling as it did with the quality of the matches.

Characters don't equal cartoons which is what WWE makes. Like AEW's characters are more like the kinds in TV shows and movies. The Elite are the rich kids that buy the rec center in 80's movies, Britt is Regina George, Hangman or like Bojack. They're subtle.

But because they don't literally do cartoon characters that can literally be defined with two words like a f***ing British king, or pissed little girl, or a literal child on a onesie, these braindead MFs say it's all "bland wrestlers" like it's f***ing Thesz and Hackenschmidt out there.

Despite the fact they ALSO have cartoon characters like OC, Abandon, Stat, and Black
