    LOCDOWN

Characters don't equal cartoons which is what WWE makes. Like AEW's characters are more like the kinds in TV shows and movies. The Elite are the rich kids that buy the rec center in 80's movies, Britt is Regina George, Hangman or like Bojack. They're subtle.

But because they don't literally do cartoon characters that can literally be defined with two words like a f***ing British king, or pissed little girl, or a literal child on a onesie, these braindead MFs say it's all "bland wrestlers" like it's f***ing Thesz and Hackenschmidt out there.

Despite the fact they ALSO have cartoon characters like OC, Abandon, Stat, and Black

Like I said they do have characters and yes most of their characters are more realistic.

But it’s going to take time for the casuals to catch on to AEW’s style (If they wants to expand) considering WWE has dominated wrestling for decades with their soap opera storylines & over the top characters and for a lot of people WWE is wrestling like the NFL is to football.

“A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that plans for the top men’s matches have been Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title, and Seth Rollins defending the WWE Title against either Big E, Bobby Lashley or Kevin Owens.”

Interesting, I wonder how they’ll put the title on Seth between now and WM. Also, I hope the match is against Lashley,

    Dave said nothing wrong.

Saudi Arabia is committing genocide in Yemen, have a horrible human rights record on their own people (their own prince ordered his people to literally dismember Jamal Khashoggi in their own embassy in Turkey just because he was a journalist brave enough to tell the truth) and Crown Jewel takes place 30 minutes from a square where they do executions if they think you’re gay, not Muslim or a wizard.

Anyone who still supports WWE after doing these Saudi shows are scumbags.

Their are way too many factors to know if another Stone Cold/Hulk Hogan megastar will appear in this era.

WWE is pushing Roman to be a crossover star but he’s missing something that’s preventing him to be the megastar that they want him to be. In terms of Women, I believe Bianca can be that big draw but we all know how her reign turned out.

As for AEW, I can see them catching lighting in a bottle but their focus on appealing to fans of workrate rather than characters might hinder their growth a bit.

Roman just doesn’t have that crossover personality and character that WWE thinks he has.

He shows up on the Tonight Show and dude is wooden as a board.

I think in 2022 you need someone who can be exceptional in the ring and has an extremely popular character that can stand out in pop culture.

That will always be a lightning in the bottle moment for a promotion but I feel like AEW has more of a chance because all their creative isn’t streamlined through an 80 year old who will never understand what is cool in 2022 and judging by the creative of the last 20 years will never even try to.

Idc what anyone says,NJPW before the pandemic had the formula to break that stereotype and it had just as much to do with how they presented wrestling as it did with the quality of the matches.

NJPW actually had been doing really well getting into the mainstream before the pandemic.

Guys like Okada, Tanahashi and Ibushi were showing up a lot on big morning tv shows and advertisements and Makabe has been a big mainstream guy for a while now on all the cooking shows.

Plus Asahi TV gave them a tv slot closer to prime time in response to their increased popularity and they really have the youngest and most female audience out of them, AEW and WWE and those demographic always spend more money.

This pandemic and Gedo taking an absolute s*** in the bed with his creative since the Evil turn hasn’t helped them tho.

They really just need to unify the belts, but they won't considering they have Wrestlemania for 2 Days.smh

The last thing they need to do with unite belts or brands and just make both Raw & Smackdown the Brock/Roman show.

Yep,the pandemic and wrestlers not being able to travel killed NJPWs hype big time. WK14 really felt like NJPW telling all the big time foreign guys that left that the show will still go on and just as good.

I wouldn’t say “just as good”.

At this point they have zero new matches and are just in a holding cycle until the pandemic is over and they can bring in NJPW Strong and AEW guys over to diversify their matches again. Even Okada’s stated as such in an interview and said he’s waiting for the pandemic to die down so he can tie up with Punk and Danielson.

The Jr, Heavyweight singles and tag division & the Heavyweight tag division have never ever this stagnant.

I think when travel opens up again, they’ll be fine. I know guys like Danielson and Punk wanted to do Japan so that’ll automatically bring back a lot of foreign eyeballs whenever they have a match in NJPW.

The big money is having Okada/Danielson in NJPW and Okada/Punk in AEW.

Why does Naomi NOT just ask her husband to talk to Roman? She family ain't she? Like this better end with her winning the rumble or the title at Mania.
