I haven’t forgotten when they were tarping large parts of the arena for Survivor Series in Chicago right before the pandemic.

Hopefully they will start heating up some new people and with Jarrett’s success in WWE saving their house show market post pandemic he’ll get AEW sorted as well and stop them running the same areas 5 times a year.

If they’re able to get another big name to join the team that will probably sort their live attendance out.

he's right though...ppl make fun of TK and all that but without him we'd be stuck with WWE as far as televised wrestling goes ...AEW isn't perfect but it's a better alternative than some of these other options out here lol

Let's be clear, a wrestling company that isn't owned by a McMahon having a television deal with one of the biggest media companies in the world ending up #1 in the ratings most weeks is not nothing. There hasn't been a landscape like this in 20 years. Wrestling has always been better with multiple big players.

I meant to reply to someone talking about regal...& I agree, I wouldn't be watching wrestling today, something i watched since I was a kid, without AEW. I love NJPW, & I always peep in on major shows, but I didn't think I'd see something like AEW happen in my life time. The fact that like 4 of the biggest indie stars & a billionaire who overcame the cursed money mark moniker to make a commercially viable, stylistically distinct, & satisfying product (the best matches on tv, fact) in 2022, with the graveyard of every failed or assimilated promotion behind them is thoroughly respectable. I'm getting older & there's only so much time I can give to wrestling which just takes up so much time. AEW is worth it for me

they need that new deal with the network solidified and a budget increase...I agree a bigger name like Sasha would draw some more attention back to it but also a fresh coat of paint in general regarding the set and everything IMO...when every show and PPV LOOKS the same it can get boring to some...I agree it's the best wrestling on television and drew me back to watching after I had stopped for almost a decade...was bummed when WCW shut down and then bummed when TNA fell apart after having some initial potential and being the better show for a minute...also makes me slightly more interested in WWE when there's competition bc I wouldn't be watching at all otherwise

Loving wrestling I still have a place for WWE in my heart but Vince for so long made it unattractive & a chore to sit through, not to mention the dealings with the Saudis, not to mention the pandemic. I dunno how yall sat through that twilight zone. H coming into power obviously isn't changing too much about how things work, but I thought I would be at least 10 years older before Vince died lol. Crazy how he went out, though not unbelievable. It's an exciting time to be a wrestling fan. Tbh

I agree the presentation of aew can use a remix. WWE is good at changing the aesthetics up. Its easy of course cause they have the money lol. That new boosted deal can be a real upgrade if they can secure something substantial. It sounds like WBD believes in them but we gotta see for sure. It's been a hard year, but a proving ground for tony & everyone else who isnt marquee. They've done well. Like you said the honeymoon phase is over & you keep a relationship by being able to change productively, stay consistent, & more importantly true to what people loved in the first place. It's growing pains.
