I love Nash as a character but he couldn't outwork Nakazawa if we're keeping it a buck
Nash was undeniably cool as f*** in his heyday but a lot of people forget how many stinkers he had in terms of matches and feuds.
Hell is being strapped to a chair and being forced to watch a WCW Kevin Nash vs. Lex Luger match.

bunch of knees and a powerbomb lol no wonder he s***s on how well athletes performed when he got paid big bucks to do the bare minimum...he probably thinks Satnam Singh is the future
(no offense to Satnam but still)
Nash watching Omos: Now here's a guy who knows what he's doing!

Singh might end up being a better worker then him too at this point.

I believe in him! ppl acting like with the change up in that trios match it's not possible for Singh to still try and interfere and fans still getting Wardlow powerbombing him lol

Oh he’s def eating a powerbomb from Wardlow at the end of it.
If we keeping it all the way a buck without Hogan, Nash would be D-list MF. His reign as champ in WWF was cold as polar bear twat
Watching One Night Stand 05 for the first time (all the way through that is I've seen clips here and there)...maaaan watching Eddie vs Benoit is tough knowing Eddie died just a few months later and then Benoit 2 yrs later
watch ONS 06 as well
people really thinking Roman gonna lose to Drew
Only factor is the location of the event. If it was for one title, then there’s a strong chance
Nah this is fire
What’s that metronome I hear
I'm an Ospreay stan but United Empire vs Death Triangle was not "5 stars" lol. Dave has jumped the shark with his ratings for about 6+ years now
The damn Kip Sabian finish alone kept it from anything more than a 3.5 to me lol
Nigga got a box on his head.
Really the argument should be that no one’s “rating” is absolutely right. At the end of the day, art is subjective.
Have to say though, Nash’s point is reductive. When Al Pacino goes to Inside The Actor’s Studio they don’t start talking to him about how many tickets Scent of a Woman sold. And when you leave the theatre from a Avengers movie you don’t turn to your friends and start raving about how much Robert Downey Jr. got paid for that.
It seems that when it comes to every other form of entertainment people focus on the craft but for some reason the people inside and outside the wrestling industry try to focus most on the money because a lot of people either involved or invested in this form of storytelling aren’t self aware in the slightest and have the most fragile egos that they need the money made to validate themselves.
Nash can say it’s about the money and the miles and it is to a minor degree to a professional in the industry but when trying to hang the fact that he’s probably made more money then Ospreay he also doesn’t include the fact that he was the biggest financial loss WWE ever endured from making someone their world champion and that the most money he ever made a company was when he was a backup dancer for Hollywood Hogan.
And we all know we aren’t gonna try to compare Nash to Ospreay from an actual wrestling standpoint because Nash couldn’t outwork Ospreay on his best day.
So it’s a really stupid argument that people’s tribalism is gonna cause them to dive into headfirst.
Nash right, get a ya bread. Trying to intellectualize pro-wrestling as some high form of art doesn't even make sense considering most of what is on TV on a week to week basis is s*** yet you'll watch 6+ hours of it and not even be able to determine what high quality physical theatre even looks like. I don't even know if most of the wrestlers even consider what they do to be theatre.
Like, if you're not even versed in what good pro-wrestling or theatre looks like don't throw what he said out the window and start talking about "craft" as a way of dismissing what he's saying lol. People tryna sell a Kenny/Ospreay match on the fact that Meltzer have him some stars but you can't even explain what their issue is with each other from a character stand point which is ultimately what pulls people in to want to watch, especially if they're not hardcore fans.
