Anybody can appeal to an audience s a rebel but are you Prince, Frank Zappa. Or Steely Dan
Anybody can make songs from a place of innocence and purity without too much vulgarity but are you Mj or Justin Timberlake.
I think what makes them mid is that their whole style has never been actually polished and cemented to radio since it's growth in 2015.
