Anybody can make songs about d**** guns hoes and violence, but are you Future, Pac, Or Stevie Wonder
Anybody can appeal to an audience s a rebel but are you Prince, Frank Zappa. Or Steely Dan
Anybody can make songs from a place of innocence and purity without too much vulgarity but are you Mj or Justin Timberlake.
I think what makes them mid is that their whole style has never been actually polished and cemented to radio since it's growth in 2015.

My reply to why opium is mid is because their total package is lackluster or mid because the style was never polished to radio or popular standards.
The answer to this is yes to a lesser extent she would have the same success in the music industry.
