Epic must have rushed the release as soon as they saw what Bailey brought in. He even got Patrice Rushen to “ help” with background keys. 😯

That isolation of the Rhodes & piano , you can hear em line up with the harmonies before they bring it back in.

More to come from EWF stable, lots of out of print, coming later this year. I got you, drop fam. 😭.

Next week if you are wondering what’s on the list for Sunday:

, I’m going to throw you for a loop & connect some dots in the world of soul music. We going to hitch a ride to the south with a legendary Singer-songwriter. If you are from Memphis, this is part of your heritage. An integral voice of soul with not too many lp’s in print. A living legend & way too many music superstars he graced their records. What a gifted voice. Thank you for your interest. I will lace you next week & all will be revealed who I’m talking about. 😎

    @twitch you listen?

I got another band that bailey produced as well. This man had the ear for talent when he was asked to sign a few acts. I will get to that one maybe next month. 😎

Of course I listened fam. Wish you were here

What you mean by he arranged it? Like he structured the songs and said “hook goes here, verse here, bridge here” or something else?

Yes, he arranged this probably arranged all the vocals. On break (What break though) after he recorded & toured on All n all. This man by that time did 6 classic lp’s going toe to toe with Maurice in the vocal booth. & for fun he was signing bands & showing them the trade secrets. He must have had people in his ear for years “ Time to do a solo” 🐐 Bailey didn’t do a solo project until 1983. 😳

😳 whoa , you knew this record? 😨 that’s a cool connection. Not so cool that Epic didn’t give them a second shot. 😒 But maybe it was because they were heading in the direction of gospel . You can never tell why a band gets extra chances and why one doesn’t.

But the last song they released was that gospel send up. Philip did gospel records as well In the 80’s. It all makes sense. 😎

    Here’s a brief newsletter:

5 more days til the new Soul Sunday’s. If you misssed aany, none of the dl links expire. You can go back from October of last year and see the ones you missed. Wow....😎

Under the radar like that, always something different every week with the history that’s available. You never know maybe it’s one lp or 20. It could be. Maybe soon with a surprise. 😳😳😳😳 😳

A nice one for this week will be here , plus some other drop’s I need to do. Going to shoot for 3 drop’s this week. I guess will have to see. 😎

I know some lurkers continue to enjoy these. I don’t see you but I know you dl’n. 😒 You will want to dl this week. We have a good overview of a Memphis legend. This is for everybody this isn’t an exclusive club.

Links are always at the top. No need to scroll. Completely downloadable on mobile phones even. I designed this with one simple question “ if I didn’t have anytime to search or dig, who would I want featured that I know?“

As I march on with more names, you will see will be covering noN album 45 material as well when I have time. Have a good week. 😎

  • Oct 25, 2020

Soul sundays is half way done if you are waiting. If I was to take a guess, probably by 11 Pm Est it will be ready, I need to do the write up and gather the artwork & create some more streaming links. Please stand by, this takes a little time to organize 😳

    The hint is : Memphis.

It’s a really great one, drop fam. Very worthy of Soul Sunday’s. So much music , you could take a road trip for half a day of driving and still have music left over. 75% is not streaming on Spotify, tidal or apple. 😎

Just be patient, lurkers. I’m making progress. 😒

The Soul Sundays for this week has been delayed to Monday. The write up is still in process. It's almost done, this is how much i care about drop fam release and giving everyone people a nice drop. It's over 1gb to give you an idea of this one. Im not playing.

    It will be worth it.
