    2015 is often characterised through rose-tinted lenses. . .

    But perhaps for good reason?

Production in hip/hop music seemingly peaked in 2015. .

Be honest with yourself. . . Production quality in hip/hop has never superseded the level of intricacy in which it was functioning at in 2015

Why is this. . . Why do we constantly hear the same 808s & drum patterns in every hip/hop release these days? How do we get back to the nuance of 2015-tier production?

The depth, and complexity of hip/hop music’s production in 2015 was pure lightning-in-a-bottle. . . It can never be topped nor duplicated. . . Just take a look:

    It didnt.

    Amazing beats still around.

All the track examples you posted those producers are still around.

Youre cherry picking, we had "simple" beats as well in fact our gen is what made it popular, not saying its a bad thing. We had both.

Also blame the Rappers & audience if you really believe that.

We still do have quality production nowadays but it’s more in the minority now. It’s mainly these boring, minimalistic beats with over compressed 808’s

Disagree to an extent, especially if you go by the same rappers that op posted. Stop Trying be God by Trav & the Mariah Carey sample song by Drake etc.

I mean "intricate" production is usually rare to a degree even back then.

If youre talking mainstream, we still had the like of Fetty Wap, Waka Flocka, Tyga etc. Dj Mustard who beats are always really simple n very similar for the most part. Or Zaytoven who was "just" an arpeggio addict.

I would say "minimal" production comes from the likes of Dababy, Meg n the piano soul lanes tho, which they are popular.
