These mfers made me shed manly tears about a f***ing rock what a f***ing movie
Me taking pictures of men crying while walking out to black mail them
people actually watching trailers before the film instead of using that time to take a nice quick nap :vlosereave:
Sorry I’m Jon Bernthal
These comparisons to interstellar did not do this justice. Idk why people are so adamant on comparing movies to other movies which have no comparison. Same idiots saying Dune is better than LOTR.
Just to be clear this movie is nothing like Interstellar so don’t expect it to. Also watch it in the best IMAX theatre you can, I watched it on friday and saturday, and it makes a massive difference

I’ve been saying that this younger generation is obsessed with hyperbole and comparison for a while . Then suddenly they start retconning how good and ORIGINAL something was for the time . Then suddenly an original story is being compared to a book being adapted by Amazon .
Not as good as the hype, but it IS good. I liked it. Gosling went through a wide range of emotions basically acting by himself.

It is really bad, especially on twitter and it starts to linger its way onto here as well.
It's like when people decide to compare 2001 to Interstellar, I get why people make the comparison but the truth is NOTHING will ever be like 2001 and Interstellar is now in that category where NOTHING will ever be like it. LOTR is in that category, and hopefully Dune will be in that category as well. There's a ton of movies like this throughout the history of film and trying to measure their greatness is useless.
Just to be clear btw, this movie although really fun to watch is nowhere near that level lmaooo.

People aren’t good at articulating what the enjoy or don’t enjoy about things anymore . They are afraid to say what emotionally moves them or connects with them specific scenes or music or acting . So they just compare it to a past feeling or they look up what other people liked and say “ I liked that too “ . If for one year reviews of all art didn’t exist and people just had to say their own thoughts on a piece of art no comparisons they would be doomed .
Immediately when an album movie game comes out it’s “ this is this years dark knight “ “ this is why I go to theaters “ “ this is my generations et “. When it’s like no what brought you emotions and why no number no stars no hyperbole what did you like . There are very few places to truly discuss art
I like it here because I don’t care about likes . I do it for the discussion. To hear perspectives I didn’t think of before and try to help others do so as well . There is no water cooler moments of the past where you would go to high school and nerd out about movies it’s simply “ it’s good “ “ it’s bad “ “ it’s life changing “ “ I need a sequel “
My feet already up by that time you gonna have to squeeze by you late f***er
I’m tickling your toes as I go by

I’m tickling your toes as I go by
I can’t do shoes off in a theater that’s too extreme
This was a great crowd-pleaser kind of movie. Occasionally cheesy but it actually had a pretty solid story and great visuals/music. Only thing I didn’t rly like was how little they showed of Rocky’s planet and species in general, but I get it’s meant to be more of a self contained story.
Even though this movie doesn’t need to be compared to interstellar whatsoever, I do think it takes a lot visually from how interstellar looks. Definitely way more vibrant overall though which I appreciate. The execution of this film was way better than it had any right to be

Yeah not seeing Rocky species besides the utopian levels of it I don’t know something was missing from Rocky to me .
daniel pemberton rising star in the film composing field
His score last year for materialists was fire

Honestly with how advanced they were I was surprised how the other eridians on his ship even died. Maybe the explanation just went over my head or something but it feels like they glossed over that.
How’d you feel about the humor overall? I feel like that separates it a lot from other space movies. Gosling carried this movie pretty hard even tho he could get corny at times

People were laughing at every little thing in my showing like yes some of it was funny but I mean EVERYTHING. I went on a Friday night a lot of people were on dates . I like some laughter but the amount they were laughing made me feel like the grinch .

But nah they glossed over how both their crew members died . Which feels like it would be cool to get a funny lead up of deaths to get them there or something but I get it . Radiation poisoning or coma tech .
To me it’s a good movie but didn’t fully love it like something felt missing for me to truly love it . I wish I had imax 70mm by me .
Recommend people see it high or something I was sober

when does that new imax 70mm theater open in chicago?

The Rock should've been the lead
So this is NOT an “instant masterpiece classic best movie of all time Oscar contender”?
