F***ing HATE JRPG final bosses man.
Nothing like spending an hour getting them down to the verge of death only to get a team wipe and having to start all over again.
I think there’s an awful lot to like about the game – the open world and different cities all have their own charm; the background lore on all the tribes is densely hidden in the game (without spoon-feeding you); the art is super-charming; the soundtrack is strong (but I also still prefer the Personas for this).
As an avid Persona player I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to max out bonds. I also think the combat system is silky smooth, really taking their turn based RPG stuff to the next-level (rewinding battles; the archetype system etc.)
Main flaws are the actual execution of the story – it does feel a little deep rooted plot themes but surface level diving. A little expected of a JPRG game. Other main flaw is – as others have mentioned in the thread – I’m not 100% sure the calendar system flows naturally into this type of setting. Oh, and the dungeons are a bit underwhelming. I think the side dungeons are better than the Mementos but the only main dungeon I found pretty interesting was the Eupha dungeon.
I’d give it like an overall 8.5/10.
I think I prefer the Persona games in general. Which makes sense – it’s a series which has had 5 main games (and all the off-shoots) to perfect that formula. Fantazio was a really good first attempt at Atlus’ offshoot from the Persona series.

yea i agree dungeon design was the biggest let down in this unfortunately.
the new battle mechanics and cutting the filler out of bonds were the best things introduced here. i doubt that persona 6 will do the latter (goes against the ethos of the series and how you cant do everything in one go) but i really hope the rewind mechanic makes it.
on the real i wish fidelio's death|| and ||rella's reveal as the one who cursed the prince weren't literally back to back days. feel like a week would've greatly helped it not feeling too congested.
almost an hour in and no fighting yet
it’s almost too stylized but so beautiful
but walking around the city and all the different talking and different stuff in the screen was making me go crazy
I’m on the last 30 days(I think? I’m 130 hours in)
And as someone who loved the all the personas( still ain’t beat 5)
I think this is far and beyond my fav from the team just cause of the writing and how relatable it is currently speaking on the empathy or lack there of humanity has.
