Alyx's ending is hard of a confirmation as it gets, they literally pull you aside to hand you The Crowbar
The Crowbar.
The Crowbar.
Multiple projects within Valve have been kickstarted with the intention to turn into Half-Life 3 over the last 2 decades
Each time the plug was pulled because they felt the work wasn't up to the series' standard of innovation
So if they finally settled on a concept and commited to it through Alyx's ending then it must be something truly next level
The HLX bits of code referred to NPC behavior a lot
That's probably their angle here, same way the physics engine was for HL2

As some of you may know, I report on the video game industry and often break news based on inside information. As some of you may have seen thanks to Tyler McVicker and other hype merchants, I predicted at the beginning of this year that a new Half-Life would be announced. Here's the twist, though: my predictions are explicitly not based on inside information, as we say on Triple Click every year. Otherwise they wouldn't be very fun predictions.
I have no idea whether or not Half-Life is being announced this year. Have a nice day!
It’s over
