I think they did that to prevent people from editing their PS5 saves & cheating, but people will find a way

Yeah you could transfer saves that way, but that's a long process because I think it backs extra stuff up too even if you choose Saves only, but I could be wrong

Gotcha... Well I guess I've to soon subscribe to PS+ again for 1 month just to transfer or backup some saves to the cloud :/

But yes transfer data from for example a PS5 to PS5 Pro is I guess the only free way to do it so far

@MusicGawd Basically to keep it short... Me and other people will get what they think is right for them whether you or me thinks it's the right or wrong thing to do... But yes these prices are not why people preferred consoles in the past but still cheaper than what an equivalent PC would be with let's say the PS6's or PS6 Pro's specs.

And well whether Sony stopped putting games on PC/Mobile because of it not been worth the investment or not so is it in the end the right move to avoid killing one of the things they do make the most profit from which is their PlayStation consoles and maybe handhelds in the future if they manage to be successful in that area.

But yes Sony does generally speaking need to do better in regards to their consoles/handhelds and games for sure... And those price changes ain't it as it'll scare people and make them consider other stuff like a mid-high end PC or a Nintendo Switch 2 for example.

Mark Twain once said "Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience" but still I try. There’s "the value of the console isn’t $900" and then there’s "I think it’s a bad value proposition at $900" which is fair. This is a PS5 pro equivalent PC build I built on newegg with parts sorted to lowest price (minus controller, fans, KB+M and case)

If every conversation starts off on a foundation of ignorance, it’s pointless, the earth is flat and Jesus was white. If Sony keep the prices high after Trump is out and the AI market crashes we can then discuss greed but angrily throwing your s*** at the walls without looking at the economic and political climate, the concept of demand destruction in consumerism and the overall impact across the tech industry is fruitless

I’m a warrior sure, I don’t pretend to not have a bias like everyone else but an idiot I am not. I didn’t s*** on Xbox or Nintendo for raising their prices because I know that Xbox doesn’t make much money on the series X and they need a price to justify its continued production and Nintendo released a console just as the tariffs were being introduced (Nintendo games not going down in price is understandable because it means more profit if your consumer base is willing to pay it. lowering it must be leaving money on the table and they’re a publicly traded company). I was upset at Nvidea because AMD is so slow that the gpu market is basically a monopoly but I knew they could price the 5080 for more than i think it’s worth because of the crypto boom and now AI boom. Context is key and makes a discussion fruitful no matter how you feel about the subject. Without that, you aren’t really saying anything.

Like when it was revealed that a majority of a game development’s cost is developer’s salaries and gamers first thought was to pay the devs less. There’s no context or understanding of why they’re paid that much, doesn’t take into account the studio’s location, the rising cost of living and real wage stagnation, etc but you’ll somehow get $60 games back if that happens. The cry for more AA games, ignoring the plethora of AA games that come out every year instead putting hollow knight on a pedestal to say "why aren’t more people doing this?". It’s all pointless.

Video games are a luxury anyways. If the company isn’t making profit they cease to exist. We can’t just uncouple from capitalism while actively participating in consumerism. So much about society doesn’t make sense. It’s banging your head against a wall and pretending it’s normal. It’s all f***ing pointless. The matrix is a good movie

You and the two others that liked this are insane , and why are you attempting to build a pc to compete with a console who’s primary selling point is that it will have gta 6 for like 10 months b4 it’s even on steam? How will you replicate the gta 6 ultimate experience

And I don’t say "idiots" to be derogatory. If you censure understanding, it’s just what you are. Idiots patting idiots on the back for being idiots isn’t desirable. It’s just frustrating

    Idiot is derogatory

50-line essay defending a 100$ price hike for a 5 year old console and a company you don’t own is insane behavior

Some people don't understand if they dont price things based on demand they will just end up with a scalper situation and lose profit/money making it harder for them to justify 60$ games which have gotten cheaper over time
Im telling you right now, i'd price gta at around 150 dollars .

Read up on it a little and it seems most of the noise comes from vibrations in the plastic around the disc reader. Saw someone suggest putting tiny rubber bits around the edges to reduce the vibration. Gonna give it a try and see.

I was the exact same way with my PS5, bought most games digital so I didn’t have to deal with the noise
Weird thing is I could swear it was silent when I first got it.

    This works. Basically silent now.

I took rubber bottom pieces like this listing (ebay.us/m/wvMiS5). Put two on the inside touching the outer plastic and two on the bottom of the drive.
