Probably won't be getting it at launch because I've waited this long anyway and I can hold out another year or two to clear some of my backlog and wait until the Pro is cheaper. But Pro makes more sense for people who don't have a PS5 at all than for those who have a PS5 and got this obsolescence mindset

It's definitely an anti-consumer product, to anyone who's already bought a PS5. Biggest problem I'm seeing is the fact that PS5 is still selling at launch price, with a higher priced revision looming. You literally have people buying a PS5 today, who know nothing about the Pro, that'll find out about it tomorrow lol.

A Pro console right now is maxed out consumerism.

PS5 been decent imo but definitely feels a lot worse compared to last gen. Ps4 era was special.

The Yen is in the gutter. The price going up there isn’t surprising.

I think we're both in agreement that a Pro version is pretty unnecessary and there won't be anything to truly utilize its capabilities for the next few years

But I'm in disagreement with your statement that this console is for those who have a 5 already. I think if buying a Pro makes sense for anyone, it's the people like me still on a 4 or who haven't bought a console since 7th Gen or older. Not sure if you meant it's for them from Sony's perspective or a consumer perspective but either way, the Pro makes a lot more sense for people who don't have a 9th gen console at all imo

I agree it puts more pressure on themselves to truly sell the pro. Hope tomorrow or Tokyo Game Show they show something worth while but really I would prefer more art styles more than hyper realism .

Eh. We already got games coming out and struggling to do 60 fps like DD2, Wukong, etc. Could be due to developer incompetence or the hardware, but an option that could handle that better isn't bad to have.

Got too, trying to tier game consoles, similar to phones, is a no go. People need phones, and phones have carriers who add a 24 month lease on top of your phone bill, to make that $2K phone apart of you everyday expenses.

A PS5 Pro is not apart of anyones expenses, so $6-$700 is alot to blow on an improvement, of an existing time waster/product.

Nobody should be buying a 2k phone if they need a 24 month plan. They need to learn some financial responsibility and get a cheaper option for starters
