Got too, trying to tier game consoles, similar to phones, is a no go. People need phones, and phones have carriers who add a 24 month lease on top of your phone bill, to make that $2K phone apart of you everyday expenses.
A PS5 Pro is not apart of anyones expenses, so $6-$700 is alot to blow on an improvement, of an existing time waster/product.
When it comes to multiplayer its still going to be closer to one established thing. Its not going to give them some sort of advantage. Its not going to magically make the games more immersive or lead to better design
correct. Can confirm it runs our game much better though but it will be around the same price as a computer that could run s*** even better with unlocked frame rate
the thing is framerates witll still be locked. They will still have a ps5 pro setting on consoles based on what devs allow and how they want their game to look
I'm confused doesnt the ps5 cost 500 now leaks say ps5 pro is also gonna be 500

Nobody should be buying a 2k phone if they need a 24 month plan. They need to learn some financial responsibility and get a cheaper option for starters
I agree, I've been buying all my phones out right for a few years now myself. But everyone and their mother would not have the latest Iphone, and Apple wouldn't be able to tout record sales/profit, 24/7, uf it weren't for those leases.
It's apart of people's expenses
watch the sales numbers or if they take a survey the majority will be upgrading.
PS2 sold 150 million+ units
PS3 sold almost 90 million units
PS4 sold 114 million units as of August 2020
PS5 has sold about 56 million as of April 2024, let's say 60 million to date
I don't think anywhere close to the majority of those 60 million will be upgrading. Most will just settle for their standard 5, some will upgrade but the majority of Pro sales will be those who didn't buy a 5 imo
if GTA VI isnt announced name a reason next year from the Sony games announced you would need a Pro
will be here when you realize there isnt a reason
So it can play Starfield and Indiana Jones better

Yep, same product, except their going deeper to fix things that have nothing to do with gameplay/design, but the experience itself. There's nothing wrong with that, but at the same time, as a consumer, I don't wanna pay another $500, plus a possible $200, to fix things I can possibly live with.
1. The PS5 has games. Just this year Rise of the ronin, FF rebirth, stellar blade, helldivers and Astro bot. As well as all the other third party games like dragons dogma and wu kong
2. PSSR will allow games to run at 60 fps while retaining image quality so that you don’t get that Vaseline screen effect
3. No one is forced to buy the pro it’s an enthusiast product for those that want it. There will be no pro exclusives
4. GTA 6 isn’t coming to PC
Eh. We already got games coming out and struggling to do 60 fps like DD2, Wukong, etc. Could be due to developer incompetence or the hardware, but an option that could handle that better isn't bad to have.
I don't think the PS5 Pro is going to be a magical 60fps upgrade machine. It's up to the developers to implement and they'll always prioritize getting the visuals to the point where they're trading off frames and the game won't run at 60fps
We've been had hardware that can run games at 60fps. Uncharted collection runs at 60fps on PS4, Uncharted 4 runs at 30fps. Dark Souls Remastered runs at 60fps on PS4, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne don't
It's a developer choice to prioritise visuals over performance. We just need a console powerful enough to handle at least 60fps while developers put their all into visuals. And I don't think Pro will be that console. Hopefully PS6🤞🏽

A 5 year hardware leap can add some frames
The games already do 60fps, they just aren’t stable, so the developers don’t need to implement anything
You play a game running 40-50fps on the pro and it’ll automatically do 60fps
A game that runs at 30fps and isn’t stable will also run a more smooth 30, the same thing happened when we got the ps5 and used back compat to run ps4 games
The only thing we’d need devs to update is maybe an uncapped frame rate mode in more games so we can start pushing to 120 with vrr

If developers are willing to implement an upgrade in existing games, sure. But your Spiderman 3, God of War 3, GOT 2 type games? Developers will want to push the console to it's limits graphically so we won't get 60fps stable performance (assuming all those sequels drop this gen)

There’s always a 60fps performance mode and a 30fps quality mode for gow, Spider-Man, ghost, etc. all this means is that the 60fps performance mode will be more stable from here on out, and yeah maybe the 30fps mode will push it a lot harder
What issues you experiencing? Copped launch versions of the Xbox 360 and PS4 and both had issues (RROD and PS4 power/eject button issues) so I wouldn't be surprised but didn't really hear anything about PS5
Could just be luck of the draw but I’ve had a lot of issues with my games losing their licensing randomly (don’t know if that’s a common issue), save files corrupting, games crashing, and my game clips not saving (getting a weird error message). Haven’t done enough research on these aside from the licensing issue because I basically get locked out of games lol

Those same people that buy phones they don't need are the same people that'd buy consoles they probably shouldn't be spending money on

I think it's a CPU issue, which also can be an issue for PCs depending what people have. Obviously we'll see the specs and people will do the math of how much s*** should improve.
It's about having the hardware in a place where their isn't a trade off, but that both can be accounted for without issue. Of course that'll probably never happen for consoles, might as well drop 2k on a PC at that point.

I realised the modes s*** after I read what you added to your post, I don't have a 5 so I forgot But yeah, I agree that existing games will basically have a visual mode that runs at performance mode speeds. New games will probably do the same thing the 5 is doing now with trade off of visuals for performance and vice versa

Yea, 18 yr old me with 0 responsibility, would've found a way to cop a Pro, 1st week. 28 yr old me, with the cash and then some, copping new gear almost every week, but paying bills regularly and a shift in priorities, really has to think about this lol.

As we're having this discussion, I realised that by the time we have console hardware that can actually run 4k 60fps, there'll probably be a higher resolution or framerate that's being pushed in gaming Basically a never ending cycle of tradeoff between visuals and performance and you'll just have to settle for whatever your setup can provide
If they say only way to enjoy gta 6 at 60 fps
Yes
every mainline entry in the series has been hardlocked 30 on launch

does this also cause input lag like the fake frames in wukong

Launch versions of consoles are a trap. Learned my lesson after having multiple Xbox 360s RROD and my launch PS4 randomly turning off or ejecting games because they put touch sensitive buttons on the console
I want a Pro but I'm definitely holding off for at least a year or two so I don't end up buying a buggy console

I mean my gaming laptop can do 120 fps, so yea lol
