mfs laughing at cordae, while he out there running full spots with a big tour

They were laughing at Logic too.

When that album dropped with that suicide joint he was doing some big concert numbers.

Pop Smoke really felt like he had some 2002 50 energy coming through before they got him.

The other thing is that the current internet has made music in general feel less important and have less longevity due to all the new echo chambers opening up on here.

Adele’s 30 has been the most successful album worldwide since her last album in 2016 and even then it’s felt like it’s not lasted as much as it should have.

The last project that felt like it had the longevity it would have gotten 5-6 years was After Hours and that was in large part due to every single off the record being a chart smash for two years.

tbh the death of this three is the reason why this era of hip hop (after the Kendrick, Cole and Drake era) feels like it lacks superstars.

They were about to get really big

You’re so right. I wish they didn’t have to die.

the only superstar I see here is doja and maybe megan and lil nas (if he counts) but the rest of these have big star potential

Juice and pop would’ve been superstars too

Roddy and dababy could’ve been superstars but they fell off too quickly

Megan? she been flopping for years what are you smokin

The fundamental problem with an artist like Meg is that you can only sell s***appeal for so long

You can be the baddest woman on the planet but just at any instagram model, they get worshipped for a year before people move on to the next hot thing

I don’t think she will fall off anytime soon but I dont see her becoming the super star that roc nation is pushing for

I’m at the point where even though I hate music that where its influence on its sleeve too much (Harlow-drake) I wish some fat NY 20 year old would try to copycat biggie on every song or somethin.

Sometimes I feel like these new artists can’t comprehend how much worse their rhymes are than the guys they want to be compared with when their career is over

I mean it sucks but female hip hop artists especially those with pop crossover appeal like Doja don’t have many options if they’re looking for sure-fire top notch pop production

    March Rigness

I think just like with NBA franchises, the idea of a superstar/big market is dead

Everything is so accessible, a centralized lightning Rod for stans just don’t come the same way

The best from the late 00s-early 10s still dramatically dominate the album charts don’t they? They certainly seem to do that with the social media conversation

Nas X, DaBaby, Jack Harlow are doing a good job tho

Why do you think that concept is dead with the NBA? I can see it market wise because you look at s*** like Brooklyn or Knicks sucking forever

But Ja and LaMelo kinda fit that mold Star wise. Giannis too.
