    Synopsis

im not here to discuss my personal life with you. just that you have absolutely no understanding of how the lower and working class thinks, but then again you want to be a business man apparently so thats not shocking

News flash: You can be lower and working class while being a business man. Your points never make any sense

    Learning how to take rejection

Yeah, this is a important one, i realized i care a bit too much about how i appear to people and it stopped me from taking risks and getting rejected because i didn’t wanna feel like a loser.

I’ve been trying to care less and it seems to be working

Yeah a lot of people are willing to connect with you and help. I have like 1,200 connections on LinkedIn, I probably only know 200ish of them. I’ve sat on calls with randoms plenty of times, on both sides of the spectrum

Which one do you think is more important, skills and experience endorsed or connections?

I have only about 60 connections but the field Im in (army) all my skills are endorsed by a lot of them

Do you think I should try and beef that connections # up or Im good?

LinkedIn seems like a whole nother beast in itself

he wants to squash s*** and i'm ok with that but in a different thread. if he's serious about business s*** we shouldnt be arguing itt.

like this is actually really simple to understand. just because i derailed it doesn't mean i have to keep it going. we can discuss s*** in a different thread where it's not intruding in the main topic. someone else is already doing a good job at pissing everyone off anyway.

so here's a new question. why do you keep replying to me and why are you defending him so hard if even he isn't even bothering with the s*** anymore? @op be sure to put this dude on payroll. he's working hard 2 earn your respect. i'm sure he'll be just fine with a spot under your desk

Just leave it, and dude is a nice guy no need to be a d*** to him

It’s not about not caring, it’s about not taking it personal and learning how to handle objections. A business person is a sales person at their core.

i aint defending him for his sake, im against u in this scenario cus u went outta the way to start s*** itt and then when you got a response, you took an easy way out of acting cavalier instead of following up on ur claims.

when he's showing he's serious about talking business s***, you pop up and create bs; when he's showing he's serious about taking your bs seriously, you say oh we need to leave this space for business talk.

you gotta see how that's ridiculous

I asked him to make a separate thread BECAUSE he is serious about squashing s***. Not the reverse.

Don't like drive-by s***-talkers? Don't post on the internet. In this case I s***-talked and gave him what I believe to be a valuable resource AND stopped arguing with him so the thread would be more productive. All this and I still don't even really fw him. Go play internet power rangers with someone else. A true hater wouldn't have offered s***.

Skill endorsements aren’t really important imo. I think having a strong profile with a lot of skills and keywords in your experience is more important. Skills should still be listed, but don’t worry about endorsements too much. (They definitely aren’t bad to have, but wouldn’t put all your energy into getting them.)

Making more connections should be your goal. You could def get into a defense contractor with your Army background. Add a bunch of people at Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Boeing, etc

Your mentality matters. Gotta have trust in yourself. If you go into everything believing it's always someones else fault your life isn't better, and that social mobility is a myth there's a good chance you won't be successful in whatever you do. Some people are just raised to believe that though so it's tough to fix your outlook. Gotta understand that you're underestimating what you're capable of achieving in basically every way
