Glad so many of y’all liked this. I was bored af the entire time. His last 2 movies weren’t good imo. Hopefully he ends it all on a high note.
One of the most difficult realizations in my life to overcome was that I didn't like Hateful Eight or Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.. That's like 8 years of getting my hopes up and getting disappointed.
He's coasting hard. Both good ideas... Where's our master director/writer though? Please end strong. I feel like he's gonna indulge so hard though, people ate up Once.

Before he went for the Manson revisited stuff he was planning to do some Bonnie and Clyde movie, s*** would’ve been so much more fun 😞😞😞
pasty white boys vicariously living through white savior roles
If you actually watched the film you’d get its intent

Was slightly disappointed by once because of the hype but I still enjoyed it. Alot to like about the film even though it's very loose until the last act.
Hateful eight is just divisive imo. I tried but just could not get into it
This movie is so good and has more to say than most of QT's other films tbh.
It has more to say, sure, but it's the worst story of all his movies. Different strokes I guess.

Death Proof exists man.

I've tried probably 6 or 7 times. It's weird, on paper it should be my favorite but I find myself almost put off by the film. It just felt so meaningless and the Tarantino narration giving the twists away was unforgivable. Channing in the basement and OB were great though..
Kurt Russell and Sam are two of my favorite actors and I found their performances too unnatural.

Yeah but Death Proof was intentionally chalky and grindhouse project.

and 'Hollywood' is intentionally slow-paced and "day in the life"-esque.
genuinely don’t understand how you could like Tarantino and dislike Hollywood. Watched it again today, it’s just so f***ing good

The day in the life just feels like a copout to me. Day in the life of who? This guy that we don't really care for or relate to? It was just silly. And all Tarantino movies are silly but they always hit you, this one just made me laugh a few times and wonder if it's going to go anywhere but that's about it. There was some good scenes though.

Lol? It's a day in life with all of them. The characters are all strong enough to warrant that. Who are you saying we don't care for or relate to?
And it's a day in the life of Sharon Tate for one thing. Tarantino wanted to show the kind of happy and loving human being she was rather than just making her a victim of hideous violence and murder.
OUATIH was much better on my most recent viewing where I was on a 3 hr flight with no distractions... But it's still such a snooze fest at points, even at 1000 feet in the air with nothing to do I still found myself wanting to fast forward at some parts, especially Sharon running errands.
I'll give QT credit tho, the idea is brilliant, to have a movie about movies, while blending all his previous movies at some point and then adding a western as the show Leo's on...also just following a stunt double in general.
Just could have been more that's all. Loved HALF of it.
Still I don't ever remember myself even getting this bored at Death Proof or Jackie Brown (slower films) just more "eh this part is just okay" but never legitimately bored and I like long movies.
100% would rewatch just for that last scene alone
When I first watched it I thought s*** was just gonna be like what happened irl
