yo...the chapter where it explains what happened to his wife is insane lmao basically split her in half with that shark gun but then felt bad and tried to "hold her together" for 7 hours until they got back to shore...at which point the medics try to get her on the ambulance and she...falls apart lmao

I agree, I thought it was a funny gag, but I never took it as seriously as it became. Tarantula doubling down with, "yeah but if they fought IRL it's a wrap," didn't help

Meh, didn't really think Quentin said anything too wrong either.

    That’s cap

Most people don’t even know who Bruce Lee is outside of the name

At the end of the day, Tarantino’s films are way f***in bigger than anything Bruce done. People will remember Bruce Lee’s name forever, but people are gonna remember a number of Tarantino’s films including his name. He gonna go down as big a name a director as a Stanley Kubrick, Spielberg, or Orson Welles

  • Jul 6, 2021

That whole exchange was Tarantino love letter to stuntmen the fight, all of it

  • CRACKASTEPPAVEGAN

Yt folks weren't ready for Lee

Facts lmao and I’m supposed to just believe he was an a****** and like it wasn’t 60s Hollywood being 60s Hollywood

  • Facts lol I could only imagine what it was like being an Asian in 60s Hollywood

    I agree on this

In the film, I think the portrayal is great because it implies that 1. This entire thing is being shown from Cliffs POV and his recollections, which if anything backs a lot of what his daughter is saying about how white men back then viewed Bruce Lee and 2. Cliff is a real killer and it’s an interesting contrast to see him fight Bruce Lee who only fights on screen since a big theme of the film is the focus on fantasy vs real life violence

But Tarantino’s comments on Rogan come off very ignorant and tone deaf in the perspective he’s chosen to portray Bruce on. I don’t think it hurts the film because of the above points but it’s sad that his intention was to portray Bruce in that way.

But honestly he’s right that a trained killer would beat tf outta Bruce Lee in a real fight. MMA or pro boxers would probably get f***ed up by someone who is literally trained to kill people.

Bro if it's a fight to the death, and both people fighting know this, I guarantee you they'll both fight with everything in them to survive. Has nothing to do with being a real killer or whatever qt said on the Rogan interview. MMA dudes are no joke, it is absolutely not a given who will come out on top, not even by a long shot. QT is a great screenwriter but he doesn't know what he's talking about with this fighting s***

If you literally have killed someone with your bare hands and you’re trained on knowing where to hit, you’re going to be able to beat someone who is only trained in being able to knock someone out at best

Yea as someone who be training in MMA gyms it be army dudes and cops coming in there to learn the s*** alongside us.

MMA is barely a “sport” niggas ears be coming off in the middle of fights and s*** and they keep going lmao

And also Bruce didn’t only fight on screen. I’m not saying son is invincible or nothing but QT kinda tone deaf.

I still love the movie tho

Bro you saying this like MMA doesn't teach you how to manipulate weak spots as well lmao. Who are these real killers you speak of so I can get a full context of what you're getting at?
