I’m talkin military dudes who have literally murdered people with their bare hands considering that’s what Cliffs character is

If anything the most believable argument for Cliff beating Bruce would be weight class IMO, cuz he’s supposed to be significantly bigger than him too

  • SegaDreamFlash

Yea as someone who be training in MMA gyms it be army dudes and cops coming in there to learn the s*** alongside us.

MMA is barely a “sport” niggas ears be coming off in the middle of fights and s*** and they keep going lmao

And also Bruce didn’t only fight on screen. I’m not saying son is invincible or nothing but QT kinda tone deaf.

I still love the movie tho

Adrenaline rush make a nigga forget his ear slipped off
MF pick that s*** up casually too, like a it's Cinderella's shoe or sum

Hell no. Bruce lee transcends movies anyway. Only movie the general Audi really know Tarantino by is pulp fiction or kill bill

People def know bout Django and Inglorious Basterds too

These movies all generated hundreds of millions at the box office. None of Lee’s movies did that.

And I don’t think Bruce Lee is going to be that well remembered. I feel currently, most people have heard his name and can associate that he was a martial arts fighter but most people may not even be able to recognize him if shown a picture of him or if they even watched a movie of his.

I think when theres something extremely famous that you are associated with, your name will live on a lot longer.

I think if you pick up martial arts or boxing, you will probably hear about Bruce Lee 100 years from now. But movies are way bigger than fighting sports, that’s why I think Tarantino’s name will live on longer at the end

You really underestimate survival instinct huh...
Also, handling a gun is way different from hand to hand combat. I know they do get hand to hand training, but this s*** is no science like y'all tryna break it down to be, that's what I been tryna tell y'all, anything goes when nobody tryna die

I’m saying with their bare hands tho. Not about guns.

I’m just going off of Cliffs character. Survival instinct is cool and all but if someone has actually killed someone with their hands, there ain’t nothing left for them to contemplate b. They know what it takes to take a life.

Yeah which to be fair, i don’t even think the movie implies Cliff is a better fighter than him. I think Cliff could beat him in a real fight, but really the only time he gets Bruce is when he tricks him by making him think he can’t fight and then uses his weight to catch Bruce slipping and throw him

In the last fight between em, it jus seems like they’re evenly matched

I'm just not buying this argument dawg. What QT said, when he said Cliff tricked Lee, I can get on board with that. But again, there's no way of actually measuring how this fight woulda gone irl coz Cliff is not a real character. Weight class difference might give him some advantage though if he was real

I’d be interested to see how Bruce Lee would fair against a trained killer but he would never agree to such a fight unless it’s on the rules of martial arts or some professional fighting standard, with which I think Lee would probably end up winning in

It’s like how Floyd beat McGregor in boxing but we all know in MMA, Floyd would tap out in a minute tops

Bruce lee is in so many movies anime video games etc as an influence he’s not going anywhere. His philosophy is very big. I promise he’s bigger than Tarantino. He’s honestly niche he’s not in the category as the guys you mentioned who legit shook up the movie industry. He’s got enjoyable films but nothing so groundbreaking that he’ll be that remembered

Pulp Fiction is maybe the most influential movie of the last 30 years so this is cap. Tarantino is going to always be remembered. There’s very few filmmakers making movies as culturally revered as his. And Tarantino’s literally influenced anime and video games b. His influence is everywhere. I mean s***, RZA literally made a movie and soundtrack influenced by him.

Both are very influential figures but without any iconic s*** that Bruce Lee is attached to, he’s just a name. Tarantino gonna outlive him because film is bigger than fighting

QT deff iconic but to say that Bruce don't got iconic films is cap also man. Enter the Dragon still considered one of the best martial arts films ever made.

The amount of times this look itself has been referenced / parodied in some way shape or form.

Even without Enter the Dragon the amount of Bruce Lee scenes and looks thats been homaged is kinda crazy

Right now sure, cuz Bruce Lee legacy kicked in fully while Tarantino is still actively working

Once Tarantino retires, you really think people won’t be constantly talking about him? He’s maybe one of the 5 or 6 most well known filmmakers oat

To people like us? Definitely, but to the majority of the world. No. I know so many ppl IRL who has hardly seen much Tarantino films. He’s clearly the goat, but for those who aren’t really film nerds they don’t really give a f*** about film makers in general.

Bruce can’t even be compared to QT because it’s two different fields. Lee is just a global icon as a person period.

QT’s extensive knowledge on films use to be intimidating, similar to Kanye’s knowledge on music/design. But then I realized these are people they grew up being inspired by. By the time I’m 50 I’ll be able to talk about QT’s movies and Scorsese, etc. within the same way

we still going back and forth about the Bruce/Cliff thing?...the fight got broken up before a true winner could be decided...Bruce gets the first round because Cliff lets him...Cliff then tricks Bruce in the 2nd round and chucks him into the car...3rd time around they were really starting to get into it but were interrupted...IMO it could have gone either way after that point...no need to say Cliff would have washed Bruce or vice versa but also don't think the film makes it seem like Cliff is some superior badass to Bruce...ppl just reaching with all that...and if you get that impression at all it's because the film is from Cliff's POV and memory at that point so of course he paints himself in a better light which is what he does often in the film and novel especially (like feeling bad about killing his wife but not bad enough to NOT get away with it and confess to what actually happened with his reasoning being that he can punish himself on his own without being locked up lol)
