S*** I was gonna say this too lol smh
No, but saying a female rapper isn't good because of subject matter is disingenuous because it's a double standard among male rappers as well.
I see plenty of male rappers get hate on for subject matter but I know you're talking about s***specifically. In the case of Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion type rappers the problem seems to be that's a MAJORITY of their lyrical content where a Rico or Lauryn Hill can get sexual but incorporate other topics.
Unfortunately female rappers who don't push s***aren't given a chance by industry execs
I think female rappers get an even worse deal from the industry than male rappers
folks will gladly listen to a woman being railed by Biggie during an entire 2 minute interlude, but recoil at a woman talking about taking d*** in a verse
Meg - body , is trash, there i said it
The hook sounds so middle schoolish
That’s a WILD take.
And if you've been actively listening to hip hop before 2004, it's a perfectly understandable one my g
Niggas use their "gangsta" as clout marketing themselves promoting a toxic image for young black male youth but that's a conversation for another day
The hook sounds so middle schoolish

But i dont have to like everything
