My general point was that any race could have been the one to do all of this and that within them all had a strong potential for being driven by racial superiority, religious superiority or any other factor that would divide people.

I think that you're downplaying history and western philosophy that laid the grounds for white supremacist imperialisme
One thing I found out is that it was never the idea of one person, there's a heritage there (German romanticism movement, enlightenment movement, pseudoscientific quests etc)
These movement didn't exist (to my knowledge) in Africa
The claim that any other culture would have done what the West has isn't really accurate and is downplaying history
"Tribes" (all over the world) partook in "tribal wars" and empires have been a thing since ancient times,
however the West rationalized ways to make that happen for them on a global scale) technology permitted them to sail across the Atlantic etc)
The west took innovation in fleets, harvesting, machinery, science to dominate the world (slavery, colonies, raging capitalisme, racial supremacy, mysogynie,...) forgoing a principle set by the enlightened thinkers - humanism

The main problem is white people who deny the severity of racism (mainly torys but not exclusively). To them, accusing people of racism is a bigger issue than racism itself. Lots of people don't understand the long lasting effects of systemic racism and how it still affects people to this day, they think racism ended with the abolishment of slavery.

You don't have to be ashamed of having white skin but should recognize your privilege in society and show sympathy towards minorities. Remember, getting called a c***on the internet is infinitely better than having your ancestors raped, enslaved, and killed.
