i like liquid swords better, but both are interchangeable
mafiaso rap really is the goat sub genre
someone had it on a list of "red album covers" asking which was the best...I chose that and got laughed at f*** em though Cuban Linx is fire and so is the sequel

Not even a top 5 90s NY albums, still very good tho
i think a top 5 is pretty much interchangeable. illmatic might be the only 1 consistently ranked in that. wu-tang solos, biggies 2 classics, reasonable doubt, mobb deeps classics etc. too much to choose from

that Ghostface verse on Cold Outside is prly in my top 3 favorites of his...so f***ing flames

What would be your 5
mine would be this and then 36 chambers, liquid swords, midnight marauders, and then either moment of truth or the infamous

OB4CL is a rap classic but it lacks the versatility, sound quality and appeal other albums from the 90s have. It’s a great rap record but other albums are much more than that. Still one of the best pure rap albums of all time

that whole album was such a W. they couldve easily made something that sounded very 2009 with none of the spirit of the original, or went the complete other way and made something that sounds so close to the first album that you’re left wondering why they bothered at all.
but they just got that perfect blend between both
kept the spirit of the original intact while building on it like any good sequel should
i hope they can repeat the trick for the third album.
