Judging strictly on the multiplayer and only including the ones I’ve played a decent amount. First four are far better than the rest.

Black Ops - No crazy annoying or overpowered s*** like OMA danger close noob tubes or stacking killstreaks. If you were good with your gun and good at reading spawns, then you were good at this game. Multiplayer maps could have been better but I’ll take a balanced game over beautiful maps any day of the week. Great zombies maps.

MW2 - Really unbalanced and rage inducing game, I just rate it this high because of the memories. Some of the best multiplayer maps ever in the series, outside of a couple absolute dogshit ones (looking at you Wasteland). Best game for quick scoping and trickshotting. The golden age of the series and overall gaming for me.

Black Ops 2 - Once again very balanced like the original Black Ops. Pretty decent polished-looking maps and game overall. And zombies was cool though I didn’t play that mode as much in this one because they added a lot of weird features to it. A big step up from MW3 in general.

CoD4 - At the time it came out it was one of the best shooters to ever exist. Introduced a lot of staples to the franchise that you still see utilized today in multiplayer.

MW3 - Lost the magic of MW2. Guns felt like they were shooting pellets and you couldn’t YY anymore... something about the game just felt sluggish and off to me. That one mode where you played against waves of bots was pretty cool though.

WaW - Very meh. Zombies was a great addition. That’s about it. Maybe I just didn’t like it as much because CoD4 set such a high standard.

Never played the rest because they added the ability to fly around and s***, really dumb mechanic for cod games imo.

Also I didn’t mention anything about the campaigns because they’re all pretty decent for what they are. And after you play through the campaign once you never really touch it again. Campaigns aren’t the selling point for cod games at all.

MW2 was unbalanced arcade game type horseshit. They never patched s***. Nonexistent skill gap. One Man Army gave you infinite underbarrel nades like c’mon

WaW was the best version of classic cod and COD4 launched cod into a new direction and changed it forever. both were insanely fun back in middle school.

Top 5 would be BO1, MW2, COD4, BO2, BO3 if we talking multiplayer only

1. Modern Warefare 2- best campaign, best normal multiplayer

2. Black Ops 2- All modes are solid in some way

3. Black Ops- all modes are solid in some way

4. Advanced Warfare (Exo-Survival is the greatest mode to ever exist in COD but the rest of the game is doodoo)

5. Modern Warfare 3 (Survival is the 2nd greatest game to ever exist in COD but the rest of the game is doodoo)
