niggas confused and asking is rap dead instead of just acknowledging this is amazing
Oh yea, this social media/reality show street rap era is finally getting closure. Labels been helping these dudes move and market themselves for awhile, now they wanna swim big and can't. Alot of acts fame was never real, their label had them on training wheels.
I wanna see what numbers Uzi can move in a solo arena tour. He's the top selling rapper this yr by default.
Never been to one where they pimp out a bunch of local nobodies as openers and show up late, wasted, and phone it in?
Nah the rap shows I’ve been to were very professional and on time. Only exception was Travis making us stand and wait for an hour and a half but the show made up for it
Travis and Eminem were the only great rap shows I’ve seen live, Mac was dope too
Kendrick and Drake were very underwhelming
Depends who you see. Saw Migos one time. They were bad. I’ve seen videos of 21 Savage performing live. He is f***ing atrocious
that’s why you shove 50 of em into a festival every few weeks in the summer and there you go
Kendrick on the Big Steppers tour the best show I’ve ever seen live and I’ve been to many concerts
Post a list of shows you been to?
Travis Scott x3
Young Thug
Travis x Thug
2015 Yachty
J. Cole

Baby Keem x3

You should support everything I do
Have you been to the "Glow In The Dark"/"Yeezus" tours?
Also, just saw Erykah Badu & Yasiin Bey not too long ago & it was dope af sooooo
Was there too. Badu's theatrics, live arrangements, and band that was killing ALL set is a f***ing standard that all live acts should live by. It's so much levels you can take songs when you do them solely live without a backing track (e.g. the band transitioning from Freddie Hubbard's Red Clay to "...And On")
Let's harp on Yasiin Bey (cause that's the popular "live rap model" today) cause all that nigga had was just himself and a dj.
We need to have a conversation about how these 40+ y/o rappers (yasiin, jadakiss, busta rhymes, etc.) ALL have way better breath control than kids in their F***ING 20s because that's all that has been on my mind since then.
The mic presence and control of the whole stage that yasiin had the entire night is something that was special. And even he "remixed" some of his songs and the crowd was still with it because he had a catalog that everyone remembered and loved.
Also (in spite of him being elusive as a star), the crowd/fanbase still has love for him as a person. So when he debuts new material dedicated to his mom at the show, the crowd is receptive.
All this and the MSG show wasn't "sold out" but it didn't matter because everyone that came, CAME FOR THE MUSIC.
Also last thing: jada voice Why these rappers keep rhyming over the words?
Never been to a bad rap show, heavily disagree
Juicy J, Denzel Curry, and Travis Scott were the only rap shows I ever went to that were truly great.

ive been wondering why all these older rappers seem to have better breathing control and stage presence than niggas in their 20s? that should not happen man lol

because these 20 year olds prolly got the insides of a 65 y/o all the pills and d**** they've done by the time they 18.
Like even X in his final years was a better performer than a lot of these niggas and he was on crack
when i saw ken carson n destroy lonely it was super gas
small venue, but they knew how to work the crowd and everyone was hype. there were spinning moshpits
same w drain gang lol
One thing that is rough about new rap is in between the great modern talent you get a lot of mid that rises to the top due to streaming and algorithms artificially inflating their popularity for a time until they fall off. Soundcloud wave was insane with that.
But there are some crazy live performers still. Carti is a maniac
Juicy J, Denzel Curry, and Travis Scott were the only rap shows I ever went to that were truly great.
Yea idk what to tell you, been to 28 shows so far and they all been good. Maybe just gotta know how to pick ‘em

None of the others besides Young Nudy were bad, and even that one was fun, but those three were special
Kanye was great every time. I saw Kendrick in 2012 and he brought black hippy rocky and 50 out. I saw pro Era 420 2013 wit zombies and underachievers right after steez died that was great. Danny brown on old tour was great. Yung lean first us show with his entire crew at Webster was great.
but yea besides those a Lotta forgettable rap shows
Hip hop festivals beg to differ
If you truly think low ticket sales has anything to do with the quality of the show then you are dumb as hell.
