But individually Thug and Future clear out the majority of NY rappers.

NY rap aint that good. Its just thats all we had when it first started. When the sound spread so did the fans.

Thats why NY fell off because musically very few can compete with other regions.

Ight so now im gonna say it, this is rap right? IThug and future can barely rap it’s just catchy songs and hard ass beats that save them with some fire bars here and there …for today it’s great but if we comparing it to early NY rap hov dmx and 50 was 10 times better than future and thug respectfully

I understand this is the era were we say niggas who can’t rap are the decent rappers because we f*** with there “vibe” on tracks or we f*** with there image but no we not doing that

The melodies, flows, beats, hooks, choruses. vibes they create >>>>> Hard Bars and Lyrics.

We got to look at hip hop from a musical POV when discussing the genre.

If it was just about bars and lyrics people like Joell Ortiz and Joe Budden would be running rap.

ATL completely elevated the musical component of hip hop music.

To the point where they make even NY's best beatmakers (Just Blaze, Heatmakers, Swizz Beatz) look like amateurs in comparison.

Early 2000 ny is giving you hard bars, Melodies, flows, beats etc with actual classics atl didn’t really elevate hiphop in my opinion they did great but the s*** lowkey dum s*** down a lot…still was fire tho but I’m just saying
