Bro had the perfect setup, first song blew on SC, AWGE cosign, great melodies and beats, I Know 2 snippet going viral constantly. Can’t believe he fumbled it

Yea I was a big fan 13-15 but lowkey stopped checking for em bc they fell off imo

    Key left

Lightskinmac11 was talking slick about Snubnose Frankenstein on Twitter and Snub produced both of the Eastside Paradise tapes. They lowkey fell out

I feel like Jace never lived up to his potential. He should’ve had a project that impacted his career a little more by now. I know he’s still doing his thing. He just got a plaque for that Ice Me Out song by Kash Doll. Idk if he was a writer on that but supposedly he does writing work. Plus he was on the Dreamville project

Curtis disappointed me the most tbh. He was my favorite at one point. Had Halfforgotten Daydreams and Danco James on repeat. He really just fell off

They should’ve been bigger. They predated the SoundCloud wave but did everything they were doing before with the sound and fashion s***

Yeah you're right when Key left it kind of went south, but personally I see where you're coming from. I wasn't into them in their hayday and just got into their music like 2 years ago so I dont know much about them. But tbh, you do kind of notice a quality drop on their newer solo stuff. FatKidsBrotha 2018 album wasn't that good, the new Jace release is mid, and who knows wtf happened to Curtis.

You're right tho man, they were huge impact on the "trippy wave" era from like 2014-2016. Predates the commercial soundcloud era.

Dom Kennedy ruined his hype by consistently dropping trash

Idk about that one I feel like once he drops his next album hes gonna be outta here

Unless TDE drops the ball and it takes forever which might happen

    i am sasuke

    WIKI / ratking
    joey bada$$
    isaiah rashad
    mick jenkins
    ski mask

i dont think any of them are unsuccessful but i think they were all expected to do bigger than they did ig

honestly i had put doja cat in that category after she fizzled out post-"so high" but then she blew up which is crazy

for everyone there its kinda their own faults tbh.

Ratking broke up almost immediatedly after they blew up, and Wiki has largely been underground since then as an insular artist minus a few random features or crossover now and then.

Joey took a step back from his own career to focus on promoting Pro-Era and developing other parts of his career (i.e. acting). I can respect it but it definitely hurt his own promo. he's still kinda big tho to be fair, much more than anyone else on that list.

    Isaiah Rashad is self-explanatory

Mick Jenkins waited too long after Waters and then none of his follow-ups were of similar quality

Ski Mask hasn't really fallen off, he's just not huge; he's selling 40-60k per project though i think which isnt too bad. he's at least sustained his popularity even if he hasn't grown.

    Sir Swagalot

Big K.R.I.T. is probably the biggest example imo. Catchy, introspective, and his beats ALWAYS knocked.
