this is gonna sound weird, but you got any interviews/media/articles about west coast rappers sampling p-funk bands like parliament before dre created g-funk? like a bunch of rappers from the wc most notably dj quik sampled a lot of parliament in their music without the signature hi-pitched g-funk sound if you get what i mean

i don't have anything in particular but i guess the whole black mafia life/cold 187um is worth googling there are a few articles and interviews with him about 'origins'

can't understate bay area mobb music's impact though.. too short, 415 - the whiny synths and george clinton samples... i think both scenes fed off eachother though, that's my loose understanding lol

tbh icp deserves some credit either you hate them or not

i get theyre a running joke and i do not know their music outside of like one song

but i read a lot about their history and what they’re doing for detroit despite being the most hated and shamed rap group oat is impressive, no one else in detroit is doing as much, they surely helping a lot of jobs and economy over there
