Brand new 911, written in the stars, head high, let it breathe
2000 wasn't as good as 1999 but it's a solid album
It was mid to me
I only liked 2 joints tbh
You giving 2000 too much credit tbh
It was more of a boring mixed bag then AABA was
Uninspired raps trying to string lyrics together that aren’t even impressive on paper. Most of that Statik Sleaktah production
Survivors Guilt, Zipcodes and Show Me were good songs though ngl
Larry June better then 2000 as well, his production is 🔥 🔥
Joey just seems like he can’t figure out a good balance musically
He has trouble mixing his more traditional hip hop style with more pop/casual sounds

I rocked with 2000 for sure
It’s atleast a step in the right direction
Who remembers when homie came out with best value Middle Child lol

Wasn’t as good is an understatement man, it’s his worst album to me.

He was able to disguise it somewhat with the neodust production, but his lyricism and content took a massive nosedive on the majority of 2000. Very simplistic and bland lyrics about how great of a rapper he is. People on here don’t seem to like ABBA a lot which is fair, but it is an album that clearly was made with a lot of heart and passion behind it. Whereas 2000 was made with certain moments of passion throughout, and a lot of phoning it in.
I think people aren’t hard enough on it, that s*** is a 6/10 at best.

Definitely his weakest album imo
I think naming it 2000 was a bad idea. Set a lot of expectations he didn’t come close to meeting

ya the rapping for the most part was the weakest of all his releases esp content wise, i liked it because i just took it as some good sounding music for the most part and homage to the neo dust s*** that got him big, except a bit more 00s in spirit than 90s. i just take it as a summer time good feel album
i knew since then tho we prolly never getting nun crazy out of joey again but i been knew that since beast coast album and the light 3 pack.
i was visiting greece on the beach in summer when that s*** came out, worked perfectly for the vibe. prefer it to the fake deep preachy pop rap milktoast s*** he was tryna do on amerikkan badass. or a lot of the unmemorable boom bap tracks on there (babylon and rockabye baby r great tho). catchy hooks, great beats, his voice and rapping sounds good, mostly just rapping about rapping, luxury raps, love songs, or personal stuff. its a good sounding project. fair to call mid, but i like it for what it is. 6 or 7 is prolly accurate.

Never been a fan of him tbh
Something about a majority of his production just sounds so generic imo. Every so often he comes thru with some heat tho

cant agree with that he and joey made gold back in his hey day
i do think joey relies on him too much nowadays as an "old reliable" of sorts. id def wanna hear him experiment with other sounds more
statik sleaktah prod was the best stuff on there lol
Man hell nah
The best stuff to me is what he didn’t produce
Survivors Guilt, Zipcodes and Brand New 911 beats were the best on the album
I’ll give him Show Me though, that was a damn good flip of Men I Trust.

2000 was a masterclass on bland production from him

I’ll give you Head High, the extra production touches on it was nice

I relistened to 2000 a couple days ago to give my opinion a refresher.
So I’m definitely not misremembering anything.

I've looked on Twitter, Reddit, and on the YouTube comments just to gauge what people felt about Reason's diss towards Joey and it was generally favorable for the most part. I think this site loves to act contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian only because it's Reason

I didn't like it first listen but that was bias I gave it a few more listens and I really like it. He had some clever lines and the flip on the New York beat was crazy I wonder what an LA song flipped would sound like
