need some new age jodeci/ginuwine passionate r&b type s***
too much trap/pop influence imo for modern r&b for me to get into
Tory was on his way before this Megan s*** but now I’m seeing the case might get dropped
All the snippets for his rnb joint sound fire
I think he means more so R&b purists, not mainstream pop stars who cross genres.
In my opinion Miguel is very underrated and is the most important R&b act of the past 10 years, even more so the Frank, weeknd, or PND.
Wow
Chris crossed over but he still makes pure R&B music
That’s soft hating lol
I don’t think r&b is coming back like it used to be popping. Labels f***ing over artists more than anything

DVSN had that with their first album but that ended
Surprisingly indigo was more purely rnb than most of his peers but it’s Chris so people aren’t gonna want to hear it
I think most people aren't gonna wanna hear it more because it's 43 tracks long.
maybe if the genre hasn't stagnated musically for the last decade it could be bigger
I feel like rap becoming the most popular genre negatively affected it, because a lot of r&b voices try to mix the two rather than be purely r&b. iunno, it just never will hit the same as the 90s or early 2ks
I don’t think Miguel really has the star power, his music can be good but his shot is over
Plus Miguel last big song was that track with Travis that wasn’t rnb at all
I think most people aren't gonna wanna hear it more because it's 43 tracks long.
to this day I still haven’t checked out disk 2 but disc one is fire

Not sure if you have or not, but Snoh Aalegrahs album UGH those feels again is one of the best R&B album ive heard in years.
Like Usher's Climax?
i think the DJ Got Us Fallin In Love/Give Me Everything type songs were awful
To keep it real it’s because writers aren’t writing or great at r&b anymore. Most now make their own music for better or worse

very true
the genres drum programming especially has bled into so many other genres
DVSN had that with their first album but that ended
Omg
The second album is arguably better
Are y’all listening to the R&B music or romanticizing the most recent golden era (90s 00s)
Wow
Chris crossed over but he still makes pure R&B music

Yeah no hate to cb, he a legend no doubt but his name and clout carries him more than the quality of his actual music at this point, with respects to a few stand out tracks here and there.
Chris brown is incapable of delivering a true R&b classic album outside of maybe his debut which was still more pop R&b than anything.
Miguel is best hope for that classic R&b artist feel.
