I mean as in mystique being why the general audience acts like it’s blasphemy mentioning Miguel with Frank and Abel because both built followings off that. Preferring them is fine but when people are dismissive of Miguel with his skills and resume that’s when I’m like

I didn’t grow up around that and I enjoy all of the artists you mentioned. I just love the genre of R&B and studying the bests vocalists in that category.

I definitely think it’s a “casual vs avid consumer of music” question because you really have to be looking to find some of these artists (unfortunately)
