For a project as supposedly special and hyped by drake, it kinda fell flat and it’s gonna be seen as another project in the post-Views twilight
I thought there was gonna be a way stronger thematic and sonic concept that we heard along the lines of Papi’s Home or Race My Mind or Pipe Down or Get Along Better where he was channeling that mid 2000’s RnB and even bringing some nice legacy acts onto the project
There’s just a lot that didn’t need to be there (TSU second half, Knife Talk, No Friends, YOL2, Fountains) and a lot that DID need to be there but wasn’t (Love All pt 2)
Great project regardless, none of the songs were really that eh other than Girls Want Girls and Love All. N 2 Deep is top 10 drake

F***ing Fans third verse is a top 15 verse of the year
If we broke it off then you know it wasn't painless
If she got a watch then you know it's not a stainless
I was out here f***ing fans, I was shameless
Yeah, and I know that
You was at the crib reading stories that they sent you
Most of that was bullshit but some of it I did do
Hard for me to justify the women I was into
Especially when the whole entire world wished they had you
Then I locked the door that night in Vegas 'cause I had to
Then I had a kid even though I never planned to
I cannot imagine when your girls gave you that news
I know that
Probably made you want to hit the streets on everything
Probably made you want to pour bleach on everything
Probably made you want to kill me on everything
Yeah, trust, I know that (Trust, I know)
Exactly man I cant even take dudes opinion serious no more after that post

Haters just be creating endless threads so they can all feed their biases.

Main single is a future throwaway song
Best song is because of the production and Travis feature
Even the intro is kind of half assed
Drake got beat by a billionaire but ironically he sounds like a billionaire who is bored with rap
Hopefully he gets inspired again

“CLB MID”
“DRAKE UNINSPIRED”
“SCORPION BETTER”
“BOTTOM TIER DRAKE”
“QUANTITY OVER QUALITY”
“NO CLEAR HITS”
“SHIT ALBUM COVER”
“TOO MANY TRACKS”
“SOUNDS THE SAME”
“IM A DRAKE FAN, BUT”
With how long we waited anyway, I wish Drake had made a super album out of the top cuts from DLDT, CLB, LEAK2020 and SH2. I think there's an undeniable classic between those ~40 songs, he just can't structure a project in that cohesive style like TC and NWTS era anymore. Now every project is a bloated playlist album to appeal to everyone. Which is fine and why we won't ever have a "bad" Drake album, but is probably the reason we will never get a classic along the lines of TC or NWTS ever again (from him). He's playing a different game now.
This is pretty much half the reason why all of his projects have not been as good as they could've been. If you look at a lot of the songs surrounding those projects that ended up being just loosies or on EPs or other projects, then you see that if he had just kept them for those projects it would have made them better.
I don’t think CLB is bad at all but I do think drake worries too much about pleasing all his fans.
He said the reason we’ll never get that “10 song classic” is because he HAS to do two things.
I think Drake would benefit from making an album solely of what he wants to make rather than thinking he has to please everyone.

Yeah exactly. He's almost a victim of his own dominance. If he let himself not be the artist always dropping music and took the time to take the creme of the crop, he would be sitting on a gold mine

Bingo he's releasing too much music for his own good, on his albums atleast. It's been 20 song albums since Views, it's been quantity over quality and it's been hurting his final product.
It's crazy to think that even with all the songs he's dropped this guy probably still has close to 1000+ sitting in his vault

Dark Lanes has some of Drake's best music in a minute (When to Say When, Chicago Freestyle, Not You Too, Deep Pockets, Time Flies) and they all wasted on a throwaway tape nobody asked for and Vital not on anything.
Dreams Money Can Buy, Club Paradise, Trust Issues and Free Spirit are all some of his best music period and somehow didn't end up on Take Care. They are just thrown together with other loosies as a compilation album. Care Package is a constant reminder of a bunch of songs that deserved a proper home.
5AM in Toronto, Girls Love Beyoncé, Jodeci Freestyle, The Motion and Trophies somehow didn't end up Nothing Was the Same.
So many more instances of this. It's a real tragedy. I really wish he'd just take a long time and not release any music unless it's a feature. Then just save all the best music for his albums, cut all the lesser ones and release them after the album as loosies or EP or just give them way as a feature.
