    F*** Ukraine.

The world isn’t white or black but shades of grey who would’ve thought.

As if this war isn’t the perfect opportunity for us to supply Ukraine with all the tools they need to f*** Russia up who have been proven to be interfering in western politics and astroturfing divisiveness for at least the past decade. Half the maga racists on the internet are probably Russian trolls and Russia is certainly just as f***ing racist as Ukraine.

    F*** Ukraine.

The Russians and Ukrainians are both guilty of this

Wagner and other Russian PMCs in West and Central Africa as well as the mass conscription of ethnic minorities in the Russian Federation

Not a fan of either Russia/CSTO or NATO, they are guilty of the same sins

you can support ukraine (as any reasonable person should), while not dehumanising others

    Banana Clip

Imagine not being in support of country that was minding its business then gets invaded by a larger country with a megalomaniac leading it

The popularity of this war in the west is because it’s actually a just war, unlike the last 20 years in the middle east

i cant support ukraine period I dont want them to win or lose i simply dont care.

russia has been kidnapping kids, castrating prisoners, sending pmc's to sub saharan africa etc.

the best way to support ukraine isnt laughing at young boys being sent to their deaths but focussing on these atrocities

the war is quite clear cut, one side is a victim the other is the aggressor

I do think the pro-Russian sentiment which is as chauvinist and pro-war as their NAFO counterparts on the left is largely due to the perception of Eastern Europe needing to pay for the original sins of 1991, the fall of the USSR

My position is neither NATO or Russia, because they are both causes of the bourgeois to take their slice of the pie, there is no “primary contradiction” but the global totality of capital

most of the regressive leftists (Most leftists are reasonable enough to call atrocities atrocities) fall into one of 2 camps:

    • tankies who think as you describe, russia is a victim and all the other eastern euro countries are genocidal maniacs

    • those who claim us meddling set this off, operating under a guise of faux neutrality while tacitly and reservedly wanting russia to win

you can find a few of both groups in this thread

Can’t support the Biden administration sending billions into Ukraine instead of dealing with domestic affairs like infrastructure improvements for example.

    Not....really? But aight.

From what I have read (and mind you this can also just be propaganda) a big portion of the money they have been getting from the US has been going towards rebuilding cities that have been destroyed by Russian forces. The "We need aid for weaponry" is lowkey a front. Guess they feel they'll have an easier time getting money from the US if they say it's for combat purposes instead of saying "We need y'all money for our cities".

Truthfully I think Ukraine could be straight up and say they need it for both and the US would send money regardless

that’s just propaganda lol, I’m sure they have sent money for rebuilding cities specifically but NATO nor the US not Ukraine. has been shy about sending military aid to Ukraine. Not sure where you’re getting that from

why should ukraine not get weapons anyway? ukraien losing would embolden russia or other actors to do this again

the only way to disincentivise this s*** is to break Russia's nose

giving Ukraine F-16s to achieve air superiority would accelerate everything, and i believe theure getting them

Yeah, r*ddit is probably one of the most potent places for that specific type of “kindness first” “anti-fascism” person who is actually very unkind and has several fascist tendencies, but who thinks it’s justified because it’s servicing their beliefs, instead of the “bad” beliefs.
The type of person to tweet stuff like, “us vs them thinking is a step toward fascism you guys!!!!” and then tell you that you’re either with them or against them in an attempt to control your thought and actions.
Same s***, different toilet if you ask me.

On the second one, I do think NATO expansion did have a role to play in the escalation to full invasion but definitely not primary as some people try to claim. I think it acted more as a retroactive casus belli.

yeah russia has an internal anxiety about their security, but their safety is only possible in their minds when they hold everything up to the carpathians under their thumb. mental illness

    This war is so commercialized

Feels like we’re just a few steps removed from adding sports commentary over active battlefields.

“Oooh and he held that grenade just a little bit too long. Yikes.”

“Yep, that’s a rookie mistake Bob. If you’re gonna the pull pin, BE COMMITTED TO THE THROW.”
