Feels like we’re just a few steps removed from adding sports commentary over active battlefields.

“Oooh and he held that grenade just a little bit too long. Yikes.”

“Yep, that’s a rookie mistake Bob. If you’re gonna the pull pin, BE COMMITTED TO THE THROW.”

why should ukraine not get weapons anyway? ukraien losing would embolden russia or other actors to do this again

the only way to disincentivise this s*** is to break Russia's nose

giving Ukraine F-16s to achieve air superiority would accelerate everything, and i believe theure getting them

The US displayed in 2003 with the Invasion of Iraq. what happens if you’re large enough and countries are dependent on you…

There is no “Russia will inspire others” America’s aggressive foreign policy and its failures abroad have highlighted the slow collapse of American imperialism worldwide and countries are going to be more willing to challenge its power in multiple places.

That doesn’t make Russia’s invasion any less justified but it’s definitely not the main crisis for world security that it means sending billions in weapons

Vietnam and Afghanistan was just the start, more endless failed wars that the US will try to win as it struggles to cope with the fact that its hegemony is on its way out

ive been saying this for a hot minute lmao

Reddit hides its bigotry, racism and degeneracy under a faux-wholesome sheen, they encourage groupthink and echo chambers with their upvote and downvote system etc

at least 4chan outright is straightforward with letting niggas know a bunch of weirdos are all over that site lol

Yep. A lot of it is the liberal type racism too so it’s cloaked in American exceptionalism. Anything about China and you hear all the “those evil Chinese are always authoritarian” or some other s***

the invasion of a neighbouring country by its larger neighbour with a history of mass killing and imperialism

i agree with what you say about american hegemony like that’s objectively correct, but that says nothing about the precedent nor moral element of the war

not supplying weapons to ukraine would make this stuff more common not less

Events don’t happen in a vacuum. You can’t just ignore the consequences of American imperialism foreign policy which led to (not directly) setting the conditions for Russia to even feel comfortable enough to invade

America is using Ukraine as a proxy to fight Russia since it’s less costly and is better to market to its allies and own citizens. Europe doesn’t want to fight another war on its continent and Americans are sick of foreign wars

A weakened Russia just means American imperialism for a longer period of time, you keep saying this moral element doesn’t matter enough to not support Ukraine yet by saying that you’re also implying the lives lost and currently suffering under US hegemony (Iraq, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria we can go on) doesn’t matter or is irrelevant because it happened in the past.

If you want to ignore everything up until then and focus on RUSSIA bad then go ahead but it’s not making the world more secure.

The fact that you think sending more weapons to a battle zone so more Europeans can get slaughtered is insane, has that historically worked out well for the US? Especially when it’s arming far right insurgents to accomplish its goals?

That’s the same mentality that keeps pushing the American exceptionalism. Even if you acknowledge America’s bad parts it’s always “well it’s in the past” “focus on here and now” “its morally right” whatever Americans use to tell themselves this is a righteous war

    Same thing happened in Iraq.

you can criticise the mentality all you want. i’m not american. however this isn’t a counter to the argument that Ukraine deserves help

russia invaded because russia wanted to invade. it was an imperialist decision taken to protect the regime. end of story.

as a polish person, a russia less able or willing to attack people is something that would make me happy to be alive. furthermore, russia is a decaying rust bucket. america barely thought about it before last decade because it posed zero threat. stop overestimating them
