a decade ago. with a bunch of lackluster games in between. I'm sure ppl used this logic for fallout 4 and 76 before they dropped too
previous experience is not a guarantee of the future. i don't even think you understand what copium or mental gymnastics mean if you read my comment and those phrases came to mind
They're gonna hate on you itt but it's facts. Skyrim and FO4 were a big step back from Oblivion and FO:NV in storytelling and actually being a f***ing RPG lol.
I'm afraid these upcoming games are gonna be bland action-adventure games instead of Bethesda going back to their roots, but I hope I'm wrong.

i didn't even s*** on tes 6 either
i just commented on how it aint close and surprised ppl still have this much hype and blind optimism and mf said copium and mental gymnastics
we in the same boat tho, i hope these and most games are good, but these keep showin otherwise
no lackluster games in between elder scrolls 5 and 6 bruh
fallout games don’t count, different team and series
i'm talking bethesda in general tho
but yeah maybe that will make a difference, but still don't think it's smart to be like "it'll be good cause they others were good"

Gamers just dumb as bricks. Look how long it took for Cyberpunk to drop, and how much goodwill CDPR garnered off Witcher 3 alone. And how that s*** launched only 2 years ago was DISGUSTING.

that was literally the example i was thinkin of too.

Gamers love getting disrespected man
Still in pre production

that doesn’t make sense as an a***ogy
elder scrolls 6 isn’t a new game for them like cyberpunk was for cd lol
also the Witcher was already an acclaimed book series so they borrowed a lot, where as Bethesda created morrowind, oblivion, skyrim with their own writers

Nothing you said has anything to do with what I'm saying. What does the original source or it being a "new game" have to do with folks hyping up something that doesn't even exist, especially with Bethesda's recent track record of just releasing some menial s***?

You said CD garnered hype for cyberpunk with their Witcher games, I’m saying people shouldn’t have gotten hyped because CD borrowed a lot from the Witcher books so it doesn’t act as a good reference point for writing in CD’s future games. Hence why when they wrote the cyberpunk story themselves it didn’t match the quality of Witcher at all
Hype for ES6 makes sense because morrowind, oblivion, skyrim are all universally praised and Bethesda wrote it all themselves

What I'm trying to say is that Skyrim was released a decade ago and since then they haven't shown anything decent. They've now shown, what, Starfield? Which pretty much looks like a snoozefest after six whole years of development. I'm not even going to go into Skyrim personally being a complete letdown after Oblivion since that's a personal opinion. There's very little to really be excited about until they show something super concrete.
And while CDPR did have the books as a source, they're completely different in writing, plot, and even characters. No one cared about the books outside of Eastern Europe until CDPR took their stab at it. The writing is practically all CDPR's.
My conspiracy theory is that both Rockstar and Bethesda are so scared of flopping their next release that they keep pushing the dates hoping the other one releases theirs first.
Also will be interesting to see the attention to detail for black characters
dis plus they both in development hell

Now you’re just making s*** up. I’ve read the books, they borrowed heavily
Also I like how you’re criticizing ”dumb as bricks gamers” for getting hyped for games before they release when you’re basically doing a similar thing by judging games like starfield before they release.
You’re the same type of person you’re just negative instead of positive, which is more annoying if anything

Red dead 2 isn’t even 4 years old
These games take time, they’re not in development hell just because Rockstar aren’t s***ting games out every 2 years like Ubisoft

My man, you are straight up not reading what I'm saying. I've read the books as well, and I literally said they borrowed from the books, but CDPR's writing and plot is very different from Sapkowski's (and worse, imo. I can see why he was miffed people didn't care about the books). Geralt alone is completely different in the books than he is in the games, and the stories don't even take place during the same timeframe.
And I can literally see Starfield's gameplay. We've seen what Starfield has to offer, at least its core content and gameplay. The game is quite literally releasing next year. There is straight up nothing for ES6. This isn't the gotcha you think it is.

Things that are difficult to write like the world, the concepts, etc. were copied. Changing aspects of certain characters isn’t huge.
We’ve seen a few minutes of gameplay of a 100+ hour game, you and me both have no idea how good it’ll be when it launches
Not to mention it was surface level gameplay just previewing a few systems lol it’s not like we even know what a single mission will be about yet

You know what, I'll agree with you on that one. I'll be more optimistic that ES6 will be good, with a solid launch and be relatively bug-free. Maybe even go back to the game's roots of being more of a RPG. They can't f*** up Elder Scrolls, right?
And that Starfield will be a fresh and very fun game with years of enjoyment to come. 🤝
My cock hasn’t been this erect since the first time I heard WLR
Rough 2 years for your ynahmean

Nothing wrong with being cautious with game releases with so many games being released in unfinished states. There is no way you have no idea why people are so negative about video games right now; don’t pretend
I’m not saying its not okay to be excited about upcoming video games, it is. But Bethesda IS one of those companies that has released a game in one of these unfinished states and turning a blind eye to that is just dumb. You have no way of knowing they won’t do that again. Whether different teams worked on the game doesn’t really matter; at the end of the day they decided to release a game they knew wasn’t finished

yeah but even when Bethesda releases games that aren’t all the way finished, they’re still more fun than most companies’ completely finished games so y’all need to get a grip and chill out

I agree. What I was saying to that other guy was in response to him saying ES6 might not be good because he thinks starfield is gonna be boring. I’m just saying neither of us know much about the game, I’m not trying to say it’ll be great on release and bug-free or anything.
I’m just saying it’s wayyy too early for anyone to say starfield is so bad that now ES6 is probably gonna be bad too lol
