Can you explain why MBDTF is ranked below certain other projects, including Vultures 1?
My 2024 review:
Vultures 2 mid. The AI plagues the album unfortunately and it's just not that replayable even ignoring that. Some strong songs like River, Slide, Time Moving Slow. I knew Promotion wasnt gonna hit that much in CDQ and I was right. Take Off Your Dress and Gun to my Head should have been on the main album.
Vultures 1 album of the year. Super concise, every song is executed to their full potential. Super fun to play front to back. Most played of the year. Back To Me and King my songs of the year for sure.
Donda 2 could have been cool if he just actually worked on it. Really great song ideas, I still want a finished First Time In A Long Time. Same s*** happened with Vultures 2 but he decided to drop that out of the blue randomly. Sad what happened to 530. I'm glad the finished version of Too Easy leaked, I love that song a lot and still playing it.
Donda is great, my most played album of the decade. I wish Vory never met Ye, he's related to the biggest problems I have on the album: Ok Ok and Jonah, both his songs and are my least favorite and sound like Ye feature songs that too the bad ones.
Believe What I Say, Come to Life, Heaven and Hell never left rotation since they dropped.
Jesus Is King 2 is a mixed bag. The songs that I considered the weakest on JIK are massively improved on here, Water and COS are great due to the new verses. But Dre ruined songs like Everything We Need and On God. The God Is idea is cool but execution is shoddy. Travis feature on Hands On is great. This is the Glory cool too, Dre and Snoop parts boring but Ye part is good.
JIK is decent, not his worst anymore now that Vultures 2 dropped. On God is my most replayed song, I really like that. Selah and God Is still great. Water and COS suck still.
KSG I didn't listen much apart from 4th Dimension which is my favorite song on there. I really liked the orchestral version of Cudi Montage that leaked, and it was a great version to listen to.
Ye is great, Ghost Town still my favorite song off it, super powerful song. ITAKY still getting plays as well.
TLOP again amazing. My most played this year were FSMH, Saint Pablo, Real Friends, 30 Hours and Fade.
Fade clicked for me in a different way when I was rushing back to my hostel at night and it suddenly started raining.
Yeezus is amazing. Listen to it quite a bit on runs or jogs. Black Skinhead is crack, I love that song no matter how much it gets 'overused'.
WTT is decent, this year I listened to Otis, That's My B**** and Illest Motherfucker Alive the most. That's My B**** is my favorite song off it still. Doesn't gets brought up a lot.
MBDTF and Good Fridays super dope.
Listened to the early demos of MBDTF a lot that leaked in the past year or so.
Have a newfound appreciation for Hell of a Life too.
808s Hollywood Bowl Live rips, specially Bad News was in regular rotation. Wish the soundboard recordings leaked instead of that stupid version with album vocals over HB production.
College Trilogy I didn't listen much. Addiction, Family Business and the hits off Graduation were in rotation though.
Can you explain why MBDTF is ranked below certain other projects, including Vultures 1?
i just connected with and spun the other ones a little more, particularly this year. though mbdtf is one of my fave albums i've ever heard. my rankings aren't concrete or anything, and my top 3 have never really changed. i am of the opinion that donda is a f***ing masterpiece though

I don’t really listen to Ye or JIK much besides Follow God and Ghost Town
If the two Vultures albums were combined into their best tracks I would probably put it over KSG and cruel summer
Yeezus/MBDTF the two I listen to the most plus 808s and and Late registration I often listen to
Donda I over listened too much so I don’t really play it anymore
everyone always s***ted on barry bonds and drunk n hot girls
Those takes always came from the pop heads that liked him not the rap side of his fanbase
I kind of think you are a Nazi for even mentioning his art
Any way back to working my job to pay taxes to a genocide that im entirely silent about
