There’s a lot of albums that I love but I don’t listen to them often. But there are also albums that I love and listen to often.
when i don’t relisten to some lbum i say i love for too long im starting to reconsider why i think i love it and maybe i wasn’t being honest with myself
kinda like a girl
When we talk about Replay Value we talk about listening to the whole album from front to back or we are talking about it lacking enjoyable songs for playlists or listening without the context of the project?
It depends. Some people say whole albums don't have replay value while some say specific songs don't. I meant it as both but I could understand why people find listening to whole albums again can be tedious. And I think the playlist aspect of it definitely plays a role, I see the no replayability tagged put on more "experimental" music than anything else and if certain music can't conform to a certain vibe then it's considered bad
could you explain
Well just because I play an album 100 times the next person may not. No matter how catchy the songs are. Also replay value is kinda tricky because it's not always set in stone. Some albums you can play everyday and other albums you may only play during certain seasons and occasions. That's how I always saw it anyway.

ahh i see so it depends on the occasion. ty
Not true. TPAB is a textbook example of a classic project will terrible replay value.
TPAB is a bad example because it’s a very loaded album that you gotta be in the mood to listen to. Cant just casually play it like a drake album. Really has nothing to do with the actual quality of the music

Kendrick was in my Top 5 most played this year pretty much all from TPAB so
Saying an album with These Walls and Momma isn't replayable
Ok
Personal opinion
Theres a couple albums i love but dont replay much bc im not in the mood
And then there’s Huncho Jack which is a strong 6/10 and I replayed those songs 100s of times.

Some albums I just gotta be in a mood for
If you like the sound you can still get tired of it easily. That is why some songs grow on you slower than others. I mean there are albums where it creates a huge buzz and everyone loves them but they die out after a month or so, that is still opinion based but I would think that valuable work would stick around for longer periods of time.
KTT says MMLP has no replay value....uses the phrase "stan" while the album's 20th anniversary gets massive buzz online.
KTT says TPAB has no replay value...people still chant "Alright" at protests.
KTT says GRODT has no replay value...3 young rappers(21 Savage, Pop Smoke, Myke Towers) remixed songs from album this year alone.
KTT claims no Drake album has replay value....Drake has the most albums charting on Billboard after Eminem.
KTT claims Tha Carter 3 has no replay value....gets certified 6 times Platinum in 2020 after Wayne updated his RIAA.
Replay value is completely subjective. Some sounds are no longer popular anymore but I wouldn't call it a replay value thing.
You either f*** with an album or the era it represents or you don't.
It literally just depends on the person and how they listen to music and what they’re in the mood for. Annoying when someone tells me something doesn’t have replay value in general, like how are u gonna tell me what i listen to
Plus there are albums that whenever I listen to them I enjoy them but I’m not always in the mood to listen to them

Nigga shut up
Nobody ever said any of this except for the Kendrick one.
Idk why’d you even waste your time typing up this bullshit

I used to post on the old KTT.
It was plenty of people saying the things I mentioned.
Replay value definitely exists for the simple fact that we replay music we like. The problem is with people thinking there is a one-size-fits-all standard for what ‘replay value’ is
You got a point. Niggas be like Igor is the album of life but it doesn’t have replay value, nah you just forcing yourself to like it
Bruh what? Igor has crazy replay value

Maybe if you 13 and haven’t experienced love before
