did people find this game hard when playing back in the day?

i played it last year and now watching footage of the remake, flashbacks of the scary temple with the cult people + the rising lift part towards the end kinda got me shook in hindsight and making me scared to go back in and do them again

i tried to play og 6 months ago or smth like that and s*** is weird tbh feels hard to me but i cant tell 100% before im back at it

Should I play this on Hardcore first?
